non-binding kitbash question

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Should I use the ______________ on my G2 Ramjet custom?

non-binding kitbash question

Post by Dominic »

Okay guys....here it is.

I plan to make a G2 Ramjet from a "Classics" Ramjet. Obviously, this will require a certain amount of painting. But, I am torn about which head to use. Should I go with a straight recolor of "Classics" Ramjet in G2 colors? Or, should I got the extra mile and use a regular Decepticon head, and mimic the G2 card-art? (That depicted the toy as being "correctly" transformed with the nose-cose folded down towards the back, rather than up as it was in the cartoon.)

(Edit: I voted to reflect the opinion of somebody I asked. It is not my firm stance.)

While the regular flavour head would be neat in a sense, definitely a straight repaint in G2 colours. The conehead wins by far.

Any particlular reason you are favoring making it a straight recolor?

G2 is possibly my favorite TF story.

I know Ramjet had the cone-head in the comic. But, he was also white, as in G1. The G2 toy was purple, and depicted with the head-cone down.

That's why the original Seeker design ruled.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Because it was awkward in either form?

The way I see it, if he's not a conehead, he's not Ramjet. He's just some seeker in indescribably cool colors.

So, yeah, pointy.
