Just beat part 9. That game lived up to its reputation of being hard. Haven't had that tough of a battle for a while. It was definitely worth bringing MM out of retirement for this game. Onto part 10!

I've been stuck on Concrete Man for a good year now. (Of course, I sporadically get to play it, since it's on my sister's Wii at my father's house, but you get it.)

He was the first one I beat. A guy at work was saying how hard he was, so I thought I'd see for myself right away. It took me a couple continues before I was able to run through the whole thing without dying. I thought- oh, this ain't so bad. But then the rest of the levels started kicking my ass! Definitely one of the tougher MM games. :D

AHA! Simple pattern!

1st Elephant: I'm sure you figured this one out. Just shoot it while you're hanging on the ladder.

2nd Elephant: There's a thick tree and a skinny tree in the background. Stand in front of the skinny tree, and the elephant's ball will bounce over your head every time. Just shoot away from here.

3rd Elephant: Stay on the middle platform and jump over the ball as necessary.

The one level I really couldn't stand was Tornado Man's with those rotating platforms. Took me forever to finally beat that thing.

I just finished off the 8 bosses of MM10 and I'm on the first level of Wily's castle now. Haven't beaten it yet. I think I may take a break from MM today and find something else to do.

I had to post this. It's a remix of Splash Woman's stage music, but it really captures the underwater feel, that the 8-bit tunes don't always convey. One of my favorite remixes. :)

See, I know that! It's just that, for some reason, instead of jumping when the ball should be under me, I jump into it. I know it's stupid, but for some reason I just can't get it.

Tornado Man, he's an easy one, once I had the pattern of those things. I can probably do it without even thinking now.

Oh, are we playing the video game music game? Because I have the best thing ever done with Splash Woman's theme:

I kinda gave up on the bosses and started playing the challenges. The jumping challenges were kicking my ass.

Mega Ran takes 8 (and 16)-bit game music and raps over it. He's got a ton of albums (and a lot of other, totally-original/non-game works) all on that website for free listening. Some of the stuff he did for Forever Famicom is my favourite shit ever. (I still need to see him live again--I wish he'd show up at a convention I was actually going to. I'm stuck with the Megas and Protomen and stuff.)

And just polished off MM 10. Again, hard stuff, but I think part 9 was a bit harder. I wish there would've been a little something more to the ending, like how part 9 showed all the robot masters hanging out with MM and co. during the credits. Ah well, minor gripe. Still a great game and a worthy addition to the MM library.
