Warning regarding rust on Legion Evac

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Warning regarding rust on Legion Evac

Post by JediTricks »

I have now seen 4 Legion Evac figures in the past week, and out of them, 3 had notable amounts of rust on the metal pin acting as an axle for the front right wheel (in bot mode, the figure's right shoulder wheel). It is visible in-package. Also, 1 of the 4 Evac figures which had rust on the axle also had a little rust on the left shoulder-strut hinge pin inside the robot chest - that pin is also easily visible in-package, so check for it.

If you're wondering what the big deal might be beyond cosmetic, the rust causes the wheel to not turn freely.

Anyway, now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

ps - this is in Generations because the figure isn't in a movie line, the packaging doesn't say "Prime" and he's not from the show, and Generations is the only other line running at the time.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I feel lucky now, the one I got was non-rusty.

I was under the impression Evac was a Movie character. Doesn't The Ride take place in the Movie Universe? Whatever, not like it matters in the long run.

Just an FYI, I actually scrutinized my Evac the other day, and yeah, he does in fact have a bit of rust on his front-left wheel bolt. It's not enough to be a big deal or impede movement, but yeah, it's there. I guess this issue is more endemic than I thought.

Yeah, it's not a DISASTER on mine either, it does impede rolling a little, but mainly with a figure this small it's a significant part of the deco, and that ultimately on mine was too much to get past. Less rust I can see ignoring.

I'm gonna finally take my original one back tomorrow.

I do wonder what caused this, it's a pretty rare thing to see on the TF line.
