Universe Galvatron- Neat little tank mode, CRAZY-ass transformation, his left leg will NOT stay on in robot mode. Otherwise cool though, very nice shade of purple, and the blindingly bright pinkish-orange actually compliments it nicely. I wish he could point his turret-arm out to the side. Sticking him next to Titanium Scourge when I get home, just have to wait for Cyclonus now.

DC Universe Classics Robin, Nightwing, and Green Lantern- Scalpers cleared these out of every store in Fresno, it seems, so I surrendered to comic shop prices. At least the guy knocked a couple bucks off, since I had bought the whole set. Robin's the one I was most looking forward to, after Deathstroke, so it's disappointing that he's not all I thought he would be. Oh sure, he's a terrific-looking representation of one of my favorite versions of Robin, but the soft plastic the DC Classics guys are made out of works against his smaller proportions, making him feel rather fragile, especially the legs. Plus, his cape-collar thing restricts head movement annoyingly, and his hands aren't quite the right size or shape to hold his batarangs, and he doesn't have anywhere to store the little things. At least his pole is a good enough accessory, and his cape, despite being made of even softer plastic, is still sturdy enough to act as a support in conjunction with the pole for nifty jumping/kicking poses. Nightwing's better. He feels *much* more sturdy than Robin, and can hold his sticks really well, something I had been worried about (since Deathstroke had such a seriously hard time with his accessories). Nightwing even has little clips on his back you can use to stow the sticks, a really nice touch. He also holds Robin's batarangs better than Robin does, which makes me think they might just be reused Batman accessories, and thus better suited to larger-scale hands. One point of contention though: I'm not a big fan of the headsculpt on this guy. He's got this sort of emo-swoop haircut, and a pouty look on his face that all looks more appropriate for Jason Todd than Dick Grayson. Dick should look more confident, cockier. Still a great toy though, and he compliments Robin as much as he's better than him. Then there's Green Lantern... Wow, I am just really apathetic towards this guy. I mean, it's a decent enough toy, with a cool lantern accessory, who pairs up well against Sinestro, but dang, I just can't bring myself to care. At least he comes with the last leg of Solomon Grundy, and Grundy is awesome. He's huge, and fun, and everything I was epecting when I set out to build him. His torso joint is a bit useless because of his jacket, but otherwise he's perfect. Totally worth having to buy Green Lantern.

Headed out to the Anime Club at the colleges last night, saw the first ep of this among other crap. It's Just Okay, nothing mindblowing or really awesome. But that could be me. Also everyone's sarcastic comments were awesome.

He's kinda cool. The guns irritate me, though, with their "fall the hell off" action.

On the other hand, who knew I'd be so entertained by just rolling him around and enjoying the sound effect?

Anyway! Found CrasherFracture and the others, but only bought her. And also 25th Falcon/Nemesis Immortal, which should rule.

So, like, I've been busy. And stuff. Also things.

But today is the God Damned Best Day At Work Evar. It's sunday, I'm mildly hung over, and I'm sitting here reading Anthony Kiedis' autobiography, eating work-supplied burgers and chips and barbecue, and drinking a delicious mocha. It's so quiet, we're waiting five to ten minutes between calls, and there's nothing else to do. Love my job sometimes, really really do.

Not least because I got my yearly bonus yesterday, a tidy thousand dollars. Shawing.

Anyway, I've recently purchased a pile of crap through several trips. First one, bored, went to The Warehouse to see if they had any interesting music. Returned with:

- Universe OcTankor. Surprisingly fun to fiddle with, interesting transformation and neat guns. Bad headsculpt and bad accessory integration with the claw, alt. modes are also pretty flawed. Some good ideas, some clever parts, and he is fun, but a fundamentally average toy.

- Tenacious D: Tenacious D. Good times for all!
- Sneaker Pimps: Bloodsport. Haven't heard enough Sneaker Pimps, so.

Aaaand I broke a rule. Y'see, because I spend tons on CDs and toys as-is, I can't buy DVDs. I just can't. It's a no-no. Once I start I will never stop, and before I know it I'll have way too many and never watch them. Just like the toys and CDs. *tear*
But I broke this rule after much tempting from friends, and walked away with the first two seasons of House. They were dirt cheap, House was one of the few shows I did bother to catch when I still watched TV (I now watch none), and damnit, it's a bloody good show. Bah!

Aaand a few days later, it was time to hit up Real Groovy, the huge specialist CD store in town here. Only place to find the obscure music I like, heh. Pricey, but I do have a membership with them, and get discounts when I buy enough crap. This time I hit the second tier and got $20 off, go me.

- A snazzy Fear Factory singlet top, in white. Clearanced. And neat.
- Skinny Puppy: Puppy Gristle. Essentially a 40 minute epic electro-industrial jam session. Very cool stuff, had been looking for this.
- Swans: Children of God/World of Skin 2CD. Aaaargh, I spent more money on Swans stuff. Why? Why do I do this? Somehow, somehow I manage to like it. "JUUUUST LIIIKE A DRUUUUUG sha la la"
- Mindless Self Indulgence: Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy. Blame Scourge for this. Or alternatively, thank Scourge for this, hey.

AND THEN!

With the Coming of the Bonus, I decided it was time I reward myself with something different and pricey. So I went to the mighty Pawnshop I usually buy CDs and games from, and spent two hundred bucks on a pair of New Rock Reactor shoes. New Rocks, for those who aren't so familiar, are Spanish designer label alternative boots, so they're all encrusted with metal and flames and weigh a ton. Usually about five hundred new, and these are practically brand new as-is. Well stoked, though the sheer stiffness of the leather is going to take a lot of wearing in. My many blisters agree. Limpy limp limp. Ayup.

Thassabout it. But there'll be more. There always is. *waves hands mysteriously*
