RiD (off topic)

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

I believe subforum headings should be guidelines, rather than rules.

And while my previous post was obviously in jest, it's also super serious. We don't get new members with any regularity, and those we do get we either know already or are intelligent enough to realise threads get derailed.

...I mean, what's this thread for now? We should rename it.
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did

Y'know, one of the things I like about posting here is the fact that threads derail constantly without our members coming in and faux modding the place with posts like "iT's NoT iN tEh RiGhT SeCtIon!:" Besides, we inevitably rerail the threads when there's something relevant to post about the title topic. I guess I'd hate to see this turn into TFW where every other post is some random member bitching about how threads are in the wrong place or whatnot. Not that I think we're in danger of that, but...

This thrad takes it to extremes though. It is several pages long, and the comic is not even out yet.

One thing that I noticed when I went to the Burning Hammer is that I found it very annoying when thread went off topic. I am generally not willing to read through pages of off-topic discussion to find the topic that i want to discuss.

That’s kinda my point though: you started this topic for discussion of a comic two weeks before the comic even came out. If you wanted to prevent off-topic deviation, why didn’t you wait until we actually had something to center our discussion around to start a topic on it? I mean, I can get if you *really* wanted to talk about the RID Ongoing, but there’s not even a preview, what’re we gonna talk about for two weeks while we wait for it to arrive? “Yeah, that cover art in the solicits looks…nice” “It’s set on Cybertron and it stars Bumblebee and Prowl and, um, it’s be nice if it was out so we knew more about it?”. What kinda gets me more is that, after this thread went the only direction that was really possible, you immediately started a new thread for RID, still like three days before the comic even hits. Dom, if you’re that excited about this comic that’s cool, and I’d love to discuss it with you, but I can’t *do* that until I’ve actually *read* the comic, and until then, all there is to do is just generally BS.

And dangit, if later I want to start a thread that’s just talking about the new, even more dickish Prowl, or the WFC-inspired designs, then I may just start a *new* topic, outside the general RID Ongoing one because this is a dang message board, and we can do that sort of thing!

Originally, I had a few minutes to spare, and figures "hey, might as well get that thread up now".
