God how I wish it did...

"Vipers Attack I'll Get You Cobra Vipers I'll Get Cobra Vipers Cobra I'll Get Vipers Attack I'll Get Vipers Cobra Cobra Cobra Cobra Cobra Cobra..."

I can but dream.

I have 6 Crimson Guards, 1 of the 5-pack trooper, a carded trooper, 2 Air Troopers (converted to officers), 1 carded officer, 1 vehicle driver, 1 Fred-Guard, 1 Scarred officer, a few ninjas, a few vipers, and the Night Watch pack.

As for single figures.......

Dom
-losing interest in the line post-Doc.

As I said in the Hauls thread, my mother got me the HISS Tank, which means I can swap around some webgear on a few figures to turn my Python Officer into Hunter from the UK Action Force line. Hooray for customs portraying 25 year old rare Euro figures!

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

In the last couple of waves, the amount of new molded parts available has increased. That, combined with new body-splitting techniques, has made customizing much easier.

Dom
-needs to post a list of recent customs.

Yet even as the number of new parts increases, the amount of figures I actually want is decreasing significantly.

I got way more into GI Joe 25A than I intended to last year. I have scores of figures, when I intened to stop around 20. The line was addictive. I intended to stick to my own sentimental favorites, and of course iconic favorites, but started snagging everything. The "buy it when you see it" nature of the line gave little time for reflection. I started skipping figures a few waves back, with jet-pack Duke and the tank-driver (that I still wanted for kit-bashing purposes).

I think I missed a wave somewhere, but I am not sure. I was waffling on some vehicles.

Then, Doc-gate. I like the characters. I also planned to get every dead Joe. (It appeals to my sense of irony that it is possible to get toys of characters who have been dead for 15 years.) And, Doc is from MA.

But, Hasbro went and made a mail-order exclusive even more annoying to get. That killed it for me.

There is one figure, Mutt w/Junkyard, that I plan to aggressively seek. (Mutt is a favorite from childhood.) There are others I might snag if I see, but nothing else I am willing to hunt for. I skipped the Steeler/Serpentor vehicle pack this weekend and have no regrets. I am unlikely to get even one Snow Serpent now, let along troop-build them. I refuse to pay scalper prices for any iteration of the BATT.

This might be the first time I have focused on a line more for conversion parts than anything else.

Dom
-might even cull out figures from what I have now.
