Heh, funny you'd mention the old rules for miniseries, Dom, since I felt this installment of RoS was very much a "Let's cram in those new redecos!" issue. Not in a bad way, necessarily, but it definitely felt like they'd stopped partway through the plot and threw in cameos to bulk it up.
As for The Arrival, very much the inevitable recap issue, but I did appreciate everything thrown in to make it more than that. Not enough new content to judge the book on yet. Give me Oil Slick.

The closest one to me is 45 from my house, and about 20 min from work, all the way across town. That more than anything has cut back on my comic buying and reading. I just don't like to take the time to go all the way over there.Decepticon Spike wrote:I need to make a run to the comic store.Too bad the closest one is an hours drive.

Ihink they are adding in the other recolors to bulk up the cast for the inevitable cataclysm next issue. I get the feeling most, if not all of the cast is going to die as Starscream's plot comes undone. The first batch will die when Starscream carries out his plan. The rest, Autobot and Decepticon, will likely die in the aftermath. I think issue 3 and 4 could have been spliced together, but it still reads pretty gracefully.

Dom, if you can get me a picture of a kid, in a comic shop, looking at the TF books, I will take back every dispute I've made towards your review.Dominic wrote:TFA books could be used to get new/younger readers into the hobby, rather than skewing towards the already established fan-base.
Hell, I'd applaud you if you could prove kids go into comic shops these days...

Same here. I just can't justify to myself driving all that way for comics.andersonh1 wrote:The closest one to me is 45 from my house, and about 20 min from work, all the way across town. Well, I used to, but then gas prices shot up.

I see wee little kids at the place I normally go to. But, they are normally just with parents who are buying comics, and not reading any for themselves.
Of course, I will say that a lack of accessible comics probably has much to do with why kids are not reading comics today.
