Anyway, Prowl, 'damn you have a lot of manga.' I feel less bad about my fairly modest nine volumes of Kenshin now.

There's around 230 volumes last I counted. Gonna have to shuffle some toy/dvd space around on shelf 2 here fairly soon, the Manga's encroaching on that territory. It's still hardly the biggest collection I've ever seen. Christy Lijewski (an artist I'm rather fond of) claimed in an interview to have over 600 volumes!

See you've got a hell of a lot of Bleach--is it worth buying?

Well I enjoy the series, and when it's only eight bucks a book every few months (longer between volumes, now that it's running in the magazine) it's no trouble. If you can stand long-running shonen action series and have an eye for the art (that's what got me reading it), then I'd recommend it. Plus, there's like a billion characters, so you'll probably find one to latch onto.

Also, hey, Penny Arcade books. Flipped through one in the Barnes & Knobles in one of the local malls recently, made me laugh a fair bit. Are they worth Actively Owning, though, since you can read through the entire archive? Yeah, they have commentary, and I do likes me some commentary, but is it worth it?

It's worth owning to me, since I'm the type who appreciates holding something in my hands as I read it. It's easier to flip through the books than to trawl through the archives, staring at my computer. Plus, I enjoy Tycho's writing enough that the commentary's a definite plus to me. They also print some of his more entertaining newsposts, which is cool.

As for the Yu-Gi-Oh, we won't mock you. Because it's not Naruto.

I went off Penny Arcade after their "Mega Man X *IS* Mega Man 10!" rant. Because it's, y'know, not.

Aaaand because they lol too much at how 'nerds' are scared of 'girls' (not so much in Penny Arcade itself, but it is a cheap dig they use waaay too much in their general strips).

I didn't even know webcomics were *being* published as real life books! Shows how much I know! =[

I'd imagine being an artist would lend well to that, yeah. Similar to how 86 has some 1000 TFs.

Well, I follow the anime off-and-on largely dependant on how much I enjoy the current arc so far. I got lost somewhere when they first went to the Soul Society to try and rescue Rukia and then popped back in towards the end of that arc. The early episodes were full of good stuff, so I'll probably grab a couple of the first ones to try it out.

Well, I'm excessively used to reading things on screens--I trawl through archives of shit constantly whenever I stumble upon it. I once read the entire archive of Sexylosers in one night instead of doing a big English paper. Fun! Still, the commentary and being able to own it 'and' have it in Portable Book Format is probably worth the $12. I'll pop into Johnstown after I get paid again and pick it up. I guess.

And semi-cool character designs. Or at least what I've seen from Yu-Gi-Oh GX does. Mind, the plot is ridiculously insane and I want to vomit when I listen to the dialogue, but it looks sorta cool, so I don't mind it being on when I wake up. Although now that I'm back in College, I'm not gonna be waking up then anymore, so.

I dunno, if Rooster Teeth can get their machinima out on DVD with Bungie and Microsoft's blessing, maybe Clevenger can work out some sort of deal with Squeenix? Those guys have to be at least AWARE of the comic...

On the subject of Atomic Robo, I've been meaning to ask, O6: Do you, like, not live anywhere near a comic shop or something? I know you passed on the individual issues in favor of the possibility of the TPB, but now you're still looking for that? Most comic shops can *order* stuff like that for you, y'know? Failing that, there's always online retailers...

Neither has 86 and you both suck for it. It's gotten seriously awesome lately, with a great many good jokes 'per ep.' Rarely do I go on and not laugh.

They are, and they get massively pissed about anyone selling anything with their stuff on it. I should know--their old Cafepress account from years back used to sell merchandise with the sprites on it, and then Square (since they hadn't merged yet) got massively pissed about it and told them to take it down. I still have my "Two-fisted monkey style attack!" sweatshirt, eheh.

I don't, at all. I've looked, there's No comic shops. Not even in Indiana which is a super-cool college place. It sucks.

Indeed, Transmet's up there on the Things I Need To Own list. Sadly haven't read too much Sandman, must get into that.

I wish they'd release the original Shadowman series in TPBs, too. Or the second one, hell. They did the first couple of them in 1994, but that's 1994. Shadowman manages to be Like A Comic Book, not unlike Marvel and DC crap, but without the eons of retconning and bad storytelling to weigh them down. And the crossovers seem decent!

Interestingly, Ollies is selling bigass packs of Randomly Packed Comics for $5. They vary in time period and quality, as well as publisher, so they're kinda hit-or-miss, but there's pretty much guaranteed to be a good one or two throughout.

Dr McNinja has not 1 but 2 books out already. I only bought the first one as the 2nd one is an incomplete ongoing story that just ended last month, so I figure I'll get #2 when #3 comes out.

Good point. I mean, Mega Man X came out before Mega Man 7, 8 and 9, and only 2 months after the NES Mega Man 6 since it is a sequel to MM6.
