Re: On a Mission
It's such a pain not being able to level up.
Re: On a Mission
On the other hand, infinite air-jumps from the start, that dashing attack, and the Hydro Storm.
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did
Re: On a Mission
Anyone here ever beat the one for the original game boy? I have that one too but could never get through it.
Re: On a Mission
Yeah. I only beat it on an emulator. Christopher's a sluggish bugger.

Re: On a Mission
The Castlevania timeline at this point is so muffed up though. Who's the first Belmont now? Christopher?
Re: On a Mission
Leon.
Yeah. Good old Leon, everyone remembers him.
=/
...I ran out of patience with IGA's "official timeline" when he made a point of leaving Sonia out of it and stuck Leon in. Fuck that noise. I'll accept what I see in the games. And going by them, the timeline's really not confusing at all. It all fits together rather nicely.

Re: On a Mission
Well, if you go by the games, there's always Gabriel Belmont and the new thing...
Re: On a Mission
Oyeah, I forgot about Lords of Shadow(?) 'cos it seems hella boring and I'll probably never play it. But I guess Gabriel comes before Leon, then. And we're talking, like, one generation, but they hardly look like father and son. *shrug*
And what is with Castlevania's amazingly generic / pretentious titles? How many of them even have anything to do with the game??
...Legend of Cornell, I guess. =/

Re: On a Mission
Clearly I have missed a lot of the Castlevania games. I remember Simon and Trevor Belmont and that's about it. After a while, you gotta think the Belmonts would start to wonder what's the point. I mean, Dracula just keeps coming back every damned time, why even bother? I'd like to see them merge this with Buffy the Vampire Slayer just for the sheer hilarity of it.

Spoiler
Gabriel becomes Dracula at the end.
I know some of them are actually based on puns. Dawn of Sorrow (DS) was the first Castlevania DS game (although this was a HUGE thing for the DS for a while; Contra 4 was called "Contra: Dual Spirits" in Japan) and the recent "Castlevania HD" game on XBLA is named Harmony of Dissonance. And what is with Castlevania's amazingly generic / pretentious titles? Because; it is their birthright. Also I'm pretty sure the Belmonts are kind of outcasted as a kind of cursed bloodline because of their need to combat Drac. (Also the last Belmont dies in 1999, I think, right? Because Soma Cruz is the star of the last chronological games in 2050 or whatever.)Shockwave wrote:Clearly I have missed a lot of the Castlevania games.
