But the way the backpack holds his alternate head and fits onto his back is just great. The G-36 he comes with is one of the more standard issue Joe Weapons they've been putting with the PoC guys but its inclusion isn't hated, it's always been a cool gun.
I did notice the head storage, though the satchel bugs me because I can't get it to go on him cleanly while his hood/shawl is on. Works better when he's got the disguiseJoe jacket on, so I mainly give it to him there (though said jacket also bugs me since the canteen doesn't clip on securely). Really though, it is a very nice toy, especially for me since I haven't bought a Joe in forever, so now I finally get to experience the fun of the mountains of accessories these recent figures come with (He comes with a bird accessory, which itself has its own accessories! This shit's compounding!). Plus it's Zartan, and I love me some Zartan. Especially Pretty Princess Dress-Up Zartan.
NEED JIM LEE CYCLOPS RAAAARGH
Sorry, but you really are missing out. His head has this hinge in it that lets it look up. Like, not just tilt up a bit like some ball-jointed heads, he can crane this thing ALL the way back. It's perfect for doing that 'Shooting straight up while screaming and flexing' victory pose from the MvC games. I wonder, are there any GIjoes (or other same-scale toys) that could donate a proper jacket to this guy? It's not truly a Jim Lee design unless there's a little jacket on there somewhere.

I've actually seen a couple more around here, you want me to grab you one if I get the chance?

See, that's why I sort of wanted to get one to use as Raptor. But it wouldn't be worth it unless I could figure out how to get birds stuffed into his boots.

So does the Jim Lee Cyclops come with really bad crosshatching all over it? If they want to be all 90's and everything...

I was having problems with getting it onto him at first too; you kind of just have to "know" how to do it. Here's a review:
http://generalsjoes.com/reviews/2010/pu ... artan.html

This guy puts his more to the side than I do; I tend to put mine more like he's wearing a backpack.

Is the canteen on the other jacket removable?! I never noticed that at all, nor ever heard anyone mention it!

Definitely!

Hrm, a proper jacket GI Joe...let's see here...

Well, these days most GI Joe figures are doing the thing where the jacket is more like a vest piece, and the arms are permanently "jacketed" so you'd probably have to swap arms with somebody, and I don't know how compatible Joe and Marvel arms tend to be.

You could dig far back and get an old General Hawk. The colour's about right, if you can deal with the jacket being a WWII-style bomber jacket. But like I said, you'd have to deal with swapping the arms, and also probably the hands (and who knows how compatible the hands are between these guys). It's possible, I'm sure, just wouldn't be as easy as I'm sure you'd like it to be.

EDIT: Shit, now that I look at him, Hawk doesn't even have the right body for that. Nevermind then! I thought for sure his jacket was a seperate piece.

Customizing during the hurricane yielded an RTS Legends Blue Streak to compliment last week's Silver Streak. And, I corrected my TFU Artfire, (added some blue). And, I made significant headway on a Red TFU Tracks which I will likely finish tonight. (The gym has a private rental as far as I know, so I will have the time.)

Dom
-considered doing an anti-haul, to tally up what the customizing is taking from my collection.

Got a cool Henkei three-pack from Shockwave. Wheelie, Cosmos, and Warpath in their Japanese versions. I especially like Wheelie, the only mold of the three I already had. He's got a really cool orange-cream color going, it's pretty great.

Also, Legends Brawl, just to have some more updated mini-bots.

Neat bonuses: Legends Long Haul, Legends Tracker Hound, and a book that I sent to Dom, who sent it to Shockwave, who kicked it back over my way. This damn book's been all over the country.

I got my 30th Anniversary GI Joe Stalker in the mail today! And grossly overpaid, especially after shipping. Not that the figure is bad, by any means--it's just that I found him at retail, a good half of what I paid for him, before he came in today...blurgh.

Customizing yielded a pre-TF red Takara Tracks. (The specific moulding rules out Road Rage, which I am okay with.)

My car's engine may or may not have blown up. I hate my life right now but what else is new?

Aw, you don't hate your life. You have a girlfriend! And a job (possibly two)! Car trouble's not the end of the world, chin up!

Pretty slow month for me since I don't really collect any Transformers movie toys outside of the odd Optimus.

-I got a MISB 1993 MMPR Megazord.
-All of the reprolabels for said Megazord.
-Pre ordered a Hot Toys Batman Begins/Bruce Wayne Exclusive from Sideshow.
-bandai Classic Thundercats Lion-O.

Thats about it. September doesn't look much more promising either, all I have on Pre order is Revoltech Optimus.
