August 18, 2008 Update:
You'll notice I deleted all the other old updates. I figured by now they've sort of outlived their usefulness and there may not be another one for a few weeks. Work continues on the new verison of BWTF, and I cannot thank my supportive friends enough for helping me through the grind (both on stress and technological levels). In order to get BWTF back up in some way, shape or form, my initial plan will be to relaunch the site with some of its core elements intact such as reviews of toys, comic books, TV episodes and so on. Other elements that you have all come to recognize such as the old Gallery will most likely not launch in the initial phase, but rather be added on later. Bandwidth is a huge consideration, and right now I have begun the process of researching what types of servers to put the site on. There is a good chance that in its initial week of relaunching the site will sometimes drag or worse, possibly stop responding altogether - although I hope to avoid that fate if possible.
So the big question hanging on everyone's mind is "When?!" At this time I am aiming to relaunch BWTF some time in October. This could mean the first week, it could mean the fourth. However, I have made significant progress in rebuilding the site and feel confident (barring an unforseen circumstances) that I shall be able to relaunch at that point. Thank you all for writing your well wishes!
Hopefully everything works out well for him.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?
Y'know, someone should ask Ben real nicely if he'd throw a link our way on the list at the top of the page, on the off chance anyone checks by there that wasn't in the mass e-mail, and wonders where everyone went.
I'll give it a shot unless someone that he might know better wants to give it a go.

Dave Van Domelen sent along this link to me so I thought I'd drop by and say "Hi". Thanks for keeping the flame of BWTF alive and I'm sorry it's taking a year and a day to get the site back up. It's a big job and I'm doing my best with it. One of the larger hurdles now is figuring out what type of server to put it on. I was on a dedicated before, but I'm not quite sure what my readership levels will be like initially and then a month later. Other than that, things are going very well with the rebuilding. I'll pop in here now and then if people want to chat about anything specific.

Hey Ben! Good to see you here. Glad to see you've been keeping updates on how things have going on the rebuilding. Understandably, it isn't an easy process. Hopefully things work out well for you though, and we look forward to when BWTF is back online.
Hey Ben, thanks for popping in and letting us know how you were doing. I'm glad to hear you're doing okay, and if it means the site comes out how you want it, and is much of a helpful informational cornerstone as it used to be, I'd say don't worry about taking as much time as you need to. Whatever it takes for you to be happy with the result. I don't plan on dropping out of TF anytime soon, so I'll definitely visit once you're back!

Fortunately it was nothing life threatening (in the short term), but everything seems to be better now (the price of getting older). Sadly I did not take very good care of my health the last 20 or so years of my life, so now I'm furiously making up for lost time and effort.
Just to touch upon another reason the updates are taking so long. When I was with figures.com, they had a lot of ad code inserted into my pages. As you may recall, my pages were all individual shtml pages, not in a db. That means I have to strip all that code out manually. While automated text find and replace has taken care of some of the code, some of the older code was varied and thus difficult to have a program track down. This and of course, sheer volume are the biggest hurdles for me to cross right now. I do appreciate everyone's patience.
