Masterpiece Sixshot toy. yay or nay? would u buy it?

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Masterpiece Sixshot toy. yay or nay? would u buy it?

Masterpiece Sixshot toy. yay or nay? would u buy it?

I vote YAY/YES as I think this would make a awesome MP TF toy release.

Here below is my ideas on how I'd like the MP Sixshot to be designed like:

Sixshot: a updatted homage new mold based off the 1987 sixshot toy.

I'd like to the to be around 9 inches to 10 inches tall in robot mode. which should place the toy in the leader size scale.

toy would be a super poseable 6 changer. maybe get rid of a original
1987 vechicle mode in favor of a new animal alt mode.

perhaps the toy could transform into more realistic better designed
alt modes.

Maybe try to give the toy some realitically styled alt modes like a actual military jet & tank alt modes designs. I'd want translucent clear windows for the vechicle alt modes

my 6 alt modes would be as follows:
robot mode,wingedwolf,jet,tank,Falcon & gun

i'd prefer a perfect infusion of rounded off parts infused with blocky
parts. the upper robot arms & upper robot legs would be all round &
muscular looking. the robot forearms & lower legs would be more
blocky. the wolf claws would be more sharp & claw like. the wolf head
this time would look more organic & would have wolf ears & fanged
teeth. the robot upper chest would be blocky while the lower stomach &
waist is more rounded off.

weapons the toy would come with would be as follows: 2 huge hand gun
riffles & one large sword that could also form the wolf's tail. Ninja Stars.

This toy I feel makes sense because it has major repaint & tetooling possibilites in the following TF characters/toys:
1988 Quickswitch: new colors, new robot head, new beast head, maybe new weapons. maybe minor remolded parts

1989 Greatshot: new colors, new robot head, new beast head, maybe new weapons. maybe minor remolded parts

1993? Brave shadow maru: new colors, new robot head, new beast head, maybe new weapons. maybe minor remolded parts.

2000/2001 Car robots/Rid Gigatron/Megatron: new colors, new robot head, new beast head, maybe new weapons. maybe minor remolded parts.

No, I'd rather they spent the resources and ingenuity necessary to create a modern sixchanger on an entirely new (or at least more recent) character.

Was Sixshot even popular enough in the west to deserve getting a Masterpiece toy made...? Surely characters like Jazz, Soundwave, Blitzwing, Hot Rod, Arcee or Scorponok would come waaaay before this. Blitzwing would be a particularly good idea, since I'm not even convinced HasTak could engineer a *triple*changer with three "super-poseable" / "realistic" modes, let alone a sixchanger!

Would appreciate some more physical details on exactly how an MP sixchanger would work. Sketches? I mean, at least be a little realistic here.

I don't care enough about the character to really be interested in a Masterpiece version.

I'm inclined to say 'no' as well, but for other reasons.

The way I see it, the existence of a six-changer as a toy is only going to be significant if it's something I can fiddle with and constantly swap modes around over and over again.

While the Masterpiece line might promise some amazing design and engineering in such a toy, it would likely be too expensive and too fragile to handle with any peace of mind.

So, yea... reissue Six-shot, or redesign a new mould. i'm game for that. But I'd prefer a cheaper, full-plastic version that I won't feel so nervous about just touching it.

We already got a reissue of the Sixshot toy years ago.

As far as a non-masterpiece sixshot toy. I honestly don't think the "SUB LINES TF budget can handle the cost & resources to create a poseable six changer TF toy.

At best only the main TF toy lines has the budget money & resources to create a poseable six changer toy. right now the MOVIE verse TF toy lines like DOTM have the highest spending budget & resources+retailer support to create a six changer poseable toy.

Right now it's debattable how much budget money & resources Hasbro/Takara will give the TF Prime toy line. as it stands we've only seen 5 maybe 7 deluxe "prime" toys. with the promise of MAYBE some voyager sized "prime" toys. I guess botcon 2011 or SDCC 2011 MIGHT answer this question.

I think another major EQUATION depends on the various retail store chains. whether or not they feel comfortable carrying bigger & more exspensive sized TF toys. If a poseable sixshot toy is to get made it would have to be at least $27 ultra sized or leader sized to work. as the six changer toy has a lot of parts & the engineering would need a bit of room to transform into all the alt modes. RIGHT NOW STORES feel comfortable ordering anything in the movie verse toy lines. as these have major promotion in the theathres & then eventual DVD release.

the fan catered TF toy lines are called sub lines. they have a smaller spending budget & less resources. with no media advertising stores feel uncomfortable ordering these toys in high volume & in the bigger sizes.

it's debattable how many viewers watch TF Prime Hub network compared to how many watch AEC & Animated on the cartoon network. also beastwars & beastmachines were mostly on regular channels & not cable. VARIOUS RETAIL STORES in America might factor all this in when ordering TF prime toys in volume units & the various toy sizes.

IMHO,I Don't thnk many TF fans would be that Excited to see a new mold poseable Sixshot toy done in the "TF Prime" toy designs. as most TF Prime toys we've seen thus far look like evoulved Animated TF toys. or the movie verse toy designs made to please toddlers & a younger buying age like those play school GO-BOTS TF toys from years ago.

Personally i'd only accept & buy a new mold poseable sixshot toy if it was done as a masterpiece or a leader sized DOTM toy.

I could maybe see them making a new Sixshot for a Generations/Classics type line, but not as a Masterpiece figure.

Tigermegatron, I'm sorry to have to bring this up, but if you want to generate discussion on a topic it's generally polite to respond to points other people raise. I've posted in a few of your "Would you buy this concept" threads now, and almost every time your second post has essentially just been you expanding on your first one, and not really taking into account anything anyone else has said.

You even suddenly brought up TF Prime when no one else had mentioned it, and went off on a tangent about that. It's like Anderson and I were having our own little conversation, when in fact we raised some legit points. Don't you have any thoughts on what we said about Sixshot not being a popular enough character in the west, or on how I personally asked you how difficult it would be to create a realistic sixchanger...?

It's just kinda galling to be overtly asked your opinion and then have it ignored.

Well, much as I don't like just ignoring threads, I'm probably gonna have to, 'cos just talking about your own idea and ignoring everyone else is tantamount to spamming in my book. =/
