I like Jazz just fine and all, but you know full well how I'm voting.

Well fuck me, this just gets worse every minute. TFW just posted the official nominees this year that we can vote for in the HOF. Grimlock, Shockwave, Jazz (no surprises there), Waspinator, and... AUTOBOT ERECTOR!! SERIOUSLY?@! :( :x

Looks like Hasbro is having a field day with the bio though. I'll admit it--they took what could have been a terrible situation and actually made a funny. (The bio implies Erector "saved the day" by getting shot at so all the important Autobots could run away. Also, he was rejected from the Constructicons because he isn't coloured green.)

Oh yeah, I love the bio. And the motto: "Wait, what is this? What am I doing here?"

And, lo, the worst elements of the fandom did cheer.

Y'know, between Erector making the vote-off for the HoF, not being able to find anything around here for months, and an otherwise-mostly-unrelated bout of serious depression, I may just quit the fucking fandom if Erector actually gets voted in. I'm serious, I don't want to be associated with a group of people that, in only the second year of the damn thing's existence, induct a walking penis joke into the Hall of Fucking Fame purely for a cheap laugh. Think about it, you won't be able to talk about Transformers on any other toy/comic/whatever forum without some douchebag bringing this up and you having to wearily insist that you didn't vote for the stupid thing.

I'm thinking about what the best method to prevent this may be. Willis and his acolytes seem like they'll be voting for Waspinator, so throwing in with that sizable group may be the best way to cock-block Erector. I *know* that more people *don't* want Erector in than do, but if we're all retards and vote for different guys, you can guess what'll happen.

Fuck me.

Okay, guys, let's not despair, here. TFW is the biggest TF site, so they could pull off this Erector thing, but it's worth pointing out that Erector was #2 in their overall vote. So even at the place that got Erector in, there's one dude that carries a bigger stick.

Therefore: Vote Grimlock.

And also, hey, Prowl, look at it this way. Sure, Erector's got the dick joke thing going on, but he's also a really obscure character. If this is some sort of market research thing on Hasbro's part, this might wind up indicating to them that people like the weird, obscure pieces of TF lore and that they should make new toys of some of those guys. I dunno, maybe a bright spot here?

I dunno, I'm not that upset about the whole thing. But then again, I'm also a big fan of the Bloodhound Gang, so I'm okay with dick jokes.

It is worth noting that, while Erector's bio is full of jokes, not one of them is a dick joke.

Okay, I like obscure characters and potty humour more than anyone else here. And, even I am pissed about Cock-bot.

That said, Prowl might have a point about voting for Waspinator. Of course, Waspinator is barely more than an insular fan meme. But, there is a chance that Waspinator could siphon enough votes from legitimate characters for Erector to go over if the votes are split enough. (I might write a song about this later. I dunno.)

As much as I like Jazz, Grimlock is going to be the way to go. Jazz's "Hall of Fame" entry does not have a "go here to vote" link. I am assuming this was a coding error by Hasbro. But, it effectively means that Jazz supporters have to make an extra step by going to another profile and using that "vote here" link. This can only hurt Jazz, who is at the bottom of the ticket anyway. Grimlock has the link, and is at the top of the ticket. Unless I see polling that shows otherwise, I am throwing in with Grimlock, despite me liking Jazz more.

Now, parse Prowl's post.

Wow, and people say I am nuts for not liking "Beast Wars" because it has obnoxious fans. You are talking about dropping the hobby? Damn. Whack-ass man. Whack-ass.

Actually, non-fans who bring it up will not be completely out of line. "Really, so, you guys voted for a dick-bot?", will e a completely legit question. As a fan of pro-wrestling, I have to be ready for "so, you guys are all blood-thirsty ass-holes", because of the 90s.
Fuck me.
Well, okay, if it will make you feel better...
