Re: February Hauls
No sign of new Generations or RTS out here, but I did score Animated Ironhide on clearance for six bucks. It's 86's fault, he reminded me of my old comic about Ironhide, so when I saw the toy I had to do it.
Ah, who am I kidding? It was an Animated toy I didn't have for six bucks. Hell yeah I was gonna get it.

Hey guys, remember me? Sometimes I buy stuff.
I have not been able to find anything new in my area for months, though. No new generations stuff at all, so far, still holding out for Skullgrin. I did pick up Breacher at a TRU last night, and he's pretty cool. Reminds me of Dune Runner in aesthetic, more complex transformation.
Lately though it really seems like all of my Hasbro purchases are of the foam projectile variety. Any other Nerf fans here? I've been trying to modify mine, if anybody wants to gab about that we could set up a thread or sumpin

Re: February Hauls
Managed to get Rarity from McDonald's today. And my brother's girlfriend has Rainbow Dash and Applejack for me (she's waiting until she's done making a hat for Applejack to pass them along), so the only one I haven't gotten ahold of is Twilight Sparkle. Who is, annoyingly, the main friggin' character, and one of my favorites.

Good to see you, Donosaur.
Today's haul: Generations Blurr, $11.99 at Target. Still have to open and review the figure, but I like the fact that the head sculpt is based off the IDW design rather than the original G1.

Re: February Hauls
Following Scourge's tip, I headed to Target and found that PCC 5-packs were indeed clearancing for ten bucks. And I had a coupon for five dollars off. So I figured that Double Clutch with the Rallybots had to be worth about five bucks if I just wanted the drones.
Turns out I was pretty much right.
The quality control on Double Clutch is abysmal. His arms just fall off at the elbow joints. This is no bueno, since those are part of the entire mechanism of holding his arms into place for Combiner mode. This works *very* badly in conjunction with his seemingly slightly-too-large combiner pegs to make it a serious pain to attach and detach his arm drones (and they end up angled uselessly back anyway, so why bother?!). The legs are marginally better. There're no weak joints there, but the pegs are still way too tight, so there's still an issue. Also, the upper panel his comber head is attached to doesn't like to seat on its pegs right, which is the shit icing on the crap cake that is Double Clutch. Bonus points for the silver-painted flames that hardly show up on his metallic blue plastic, doofuses. Oh, and the robot head is a pain to shove down for Combiner mode. Christ, I could complain about this toy all day.
Fortunately, the drones make everything better. The red Drag Racer drone is the only loser of the bunch, apparently missing parts so you have to do half of its transformation manually, and it ends up making a crappy leg anyway. The others are all great though, looking slick in vehicle mode (especially the black one with the yellow highlights), and making pretty good limbs (I especially like the arms, the orange one's big shoulder pad and the blue one's wrist-gun thing going on are sweet). They work great with anyone who isn't Double Clutch. I've got them on Huffer right now, since it's about time I got a set of Autobot drones.
So yeah, the drones alone were worth the five bucks I spent on this set. Double Clutch is utter garbage and is worth getting only as a gift to poorly-behaved children.

Re: February Hauls
I cannot find any Goddamn toys worth a fuck around here. The only guys I'm finding are Skullgrin and Dirge, and some other guys I already have. (I would kill for those endless waves of WfC Bumblebee right now. Troncar, damn it! Why did I keep passing?!) I'll pick Dirge up this week sometime, I think...gotta get those Seekers, man.
So instead I spent obscene amounts of money on DVDs:
-Watchmen Ultimate Cut for $20! Couldn't believe it when I saw it. I don't own any other Watchmen DVDs specifically because this exists and I wanted to own it...of course, now I see that I don't think it has the theatrical cut anywhere on the 'five discs' it has. Also, one of those discs is the cruddy "motion comic" that I'm pretty sure I will never watch unless I'm drunk and need to laugh really hard. They could have used that for the soundtrack, damn it! The new Tron box sets are doing that too; I think it's got
-Space Jam Special Edition for...$26. I can't believe I spent this much for Space Jam. But I love Space Jam, and to me, it's worth it. (Also, I could justifiably say that I really spent $40 on Watchmen and $6 on Space Jam.)
-Hook for $5! I love Hook, I think it's the best Peter Pan movie ever, seriously. Dustin Hoffman's Hook is so prominent in my mind, it defines the character. And Rufio is a badass.
-The first four Nightmare on Elm Street flicks in one box for $13. My sister used to have all of them, and I don't feel like tracking them down individually or getting a box set or anything. These were cheap and AFAIK most of these don't have any badass special editions released where I'm missing out on anything. Next up is the next four. And then I embark on getting those damn Star Wars movies, finally. (The only thing I don't like about this DVD is that the DVDs are two-sided and the label is kind of bleah. Damn DVD compilation sets.) Oh, and that BTTF box set...damn it...

I love that movie. Went and saw in in the theater, and snapped up the VHS when it was released. I still need to get it on DVD though.Onslaught Six wrote:-Hook for $5! Re: February Hauls
Local hoppy shop had an HG RX-79 (G) model kit in, so I was pretty much required by law to buy it. The (G) is my absolute favorite mobile suit ever, you see. And though this particular kit seems to be based on some other CGI OVA they made and not '08th MS Team', it still comes with a sticker for the shield to make it 08th Team, and two Hovertrucks with different loadouts, and even a swappable GM head! This thing is gonna be great; I'ma have to weather it properly, since the RX-79 looks best when it looks like it's actually gotten some use.
