You're failing to see my point... There is a lot of terrible fanfiction out there for everything. Just because you've seen more for BW, that doesn't mean fans of BW do more than any other group.

I believe Mr. Six meant that there's not a greater quantity of bad BW fanfic, just a lower quality. Though, tough call, I'm sure everything's got it's share of horrifyingly bad depths.

BW does have the added burden of having a bunch of furries that are writing their hideous furry fanfic with BW characters in it, though. So there is that.

I refuse to try Prowl's DeviantArt Challenge, largely because I'd be tempted to search "Power Pack Sonic", and the results would likely leave me wanting to blow up the world. I've got a strong stomach and all, but there's some things I just won't subject myself to.

That's my point. It's not just Beast Wars, every fandom has it's fair share. Like BWprowl's game goes to show....

Prowl's game applies more to fan-art than fan-fic, at least as far as I know. If we include fan-art as part of fanfic, then "Sonic the Hedgehog" becomes a real contender.

I tend to agree with O6 to a point. Relative to the Transfandom, BW is probably responsible for more bad fanfic, (if only in qualitative terms), than the rest of the franchise. This is not to say that there is not some hilariously bad G1 fanfic out there. But, BW has spawned far more of it.
And, to be fair, BW has nothing that tops Tut's essay comparing Starscream to a battered woman. (I am still laughing about that one a decade later.)

I was using that as a point of reference as it had already been brought up. If you just want to look at fanfic, I'm sure Star Trek or Star Wars would easily beat all of Transformers fanfiction... And honestly, I think Beast Wars is more "well known" for its bad fanfics, not that it has more of them than other Transformers franchises.

But wouldn't you say that BW generates more fanfic in general simply by being more popular than most TF shows? G1 excluded.

That's basically my whole issue with it--people who like BW tend to not like other TF shows based on how "different" BW was.

And by different, I mean it had furry altmodes and was decently written.

BW fans are perhaps more resistant to change upon their favourite version of the series than GI Joe fans.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I *really* want to say that O6 is wrong. (BW fans have even less excuse for being so stubborn, as their favorite part of the hobby was a huge change when it started.)
