So details have slowly been coming out about Pokemon Black and White for a while now. It's scheduled for release next week in Japan, and we finally know how many new Pokemon the new games will have and a description of several Legendaries it will be introducing (Note: Serebii mentions there is a chance this information might change but they are usually pretty accurate).
Serebii.net wrote:There are 156 new Pokémon within this generation; 153 within normal gameplay and further 3 event Pokémon (#647, #648 & #649) that will be distributed in a manner similar to Darkrai, Shaymin & Arceus in the previous generation

In regards to a few numbers and details;
#633 through #635 are a Dark/Dragon-type evolution chain
#638 is a Steel/Fighting-type Legendary
#639 is a Rock/Fighting-type Legendary
#640 is a Grass/Fighting-type Legendary
#641 is a Pure Flying-type Legendary
#642 is an Electric/Flying-type Legendary
Reshiram is to be #643
Zekrom is to be #644
#645 is a Ground/Flying-type Legendary
#646 is a Dragon/Ice-type Legendary
#647 is a Water/Fighting-type Event Legendary
#648 is a Normal/Psychic-type Event Legendary
#649 is a Bug/Steel-type Event Legendary
156 New Pokemon. That's the most Pokemon introduced in a single generation, and brings the total Pokemon count up to 649. Sounds like some interesting Legendaries as well with some unique types, like the first pure Flying type, or a dragon/ice type. It's looking like it'll be an interesting Generation.

Word on the street was that there would be no older-gen Pokemon available for capture in this one, hence the massive influx of new stuff. I can kinda get behind that, at least it means there'll FINALLY be something to catch in caves besides Zubats. Still too many Legendaries though, that's one of the biggest issues I took with the recent generations.

Dragon/Ice is an interesting combination. It loses Dragon's trademark weaknesses to itself and Ice, but gains weakness to Fighting, Rock, and Steel types. Fighting and Rock aren't good weaknesses to have, really. That said, this thing will be amazing at killing other Dragons, if nothing else.

Fighting/Grass is a retarded combo. A good amount of resistances, but WAY too many weakness to other common types, including a double weakness against Flying.

As I've heard it, you wont be seeing them in the main part of the game, but the older generations will still be in it. I forgot to mention Serebii.net's update listed one of the cities has a ship that can take you to some islands. I'm thinking maybe they'll set it up kinda like the Sevii Islands in Fire Red/Leaf Green in order to separate the other Gens. But anyway, I completely agree, it'll be nice to see all new Pokemon instead of floods of Zubat or Tetacruel everywhere like every other generation has had.

Yeah, they seem to like to keep adding more and more of them. I wouldn't mind if they cut back on them myself.

What about after we get the National Dex?

I literally haven't played a Pokemon game since...G/S. Well, I played FireRed up until I got to Brock but then I stopped.

I've been on a minor GameBoy kick lately, though! I'm playing through Donkey Kong '94, one of Nintendo's first real reboots, and damn is it as fun as it ever was. I loved this game as a kid and I'm so sad I lost my cart all those years ago. Maybe once I beat it, I'll give Metroid 2 a shot--it's been forever and I always managed to get lost...

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

So, I know I'm way behind on this party, but..

I'm playing God of War right now. First one. And god dammit, I truly hate the giant steam-powered armor minotaur in the Challenge of Hades. Eff that thing SO HARD.

Okay, so with that out of the way, going back to probably be killed by this stupid thing some more.

Normal. I probably should go to Easy, but I don't wanna. Also, I finally killed his ass. What a good feeling.

The Minotaur does show up at the end of the game, but luckily you don't have to fight him. I'm a wimp when it comes to vidya games. I play everything on easy unless there's god modes and unlimited weapons and ammo. Heck, I only yesterday played the final battle against Omega Supreme on WFC on hard. I actually had to strategize. Go figure.

I haven't played that one myself, but I've seen enouph of it know what you mean. I don't know they ever thought making X an unlockable character would be a good idea in that game. He's supposed to be the main character! I know the 3D mode section of the game can be a pain, and dealing with the camera in bad spots. Most people I know consider it a forgettable instalment of the series.

Anyway, I got Metroid Other M for my birthday. It's been a lot of fun so far.
