Love it or hate it - G1!

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!
Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

That's my only complaint with the Universe/Classics seeker mold, that it's too small compared to the cars. I'd love to have had that mold at a voyager size.
Voyager's too expensive. At $20 apiece (before the price hikes, even!) I'd have found it hard to justify buying three, let alone six, of them. Times like this, I miss the Megas. The real Megas.
True, that would have been even better. I miss the old $15 price point figures.

Man, what were the last Megas we got? I think RiD's Sky-Byte might've been the last one (discounting the various Universe redecos that were sold in multipacks anyway).

ANYWAY, contributan:

Love: Sky Lynx! You guys know my adoration for this figure knows no bounds. He's a friggin' huge space shuttle on a crawler transport that splits a pterodactyl and a lynx, and can combine back into some sort of ridiculous Dragon-Dino-Bird-thing! And he walks automatically! And has an opening cargo bay! I really should get around to writing a review of mine one of these days, just to pay tribute to Sky Lynx properly. Wow do I wish we'd get a new one. Although I don't know if it could match the autowalking glory of the original.

Hate: Bulletbike! Okay, I don't actually own Bulletbike, but I wanted to for a time. He's a motorcycle (a TF altmode I have a weakness for), and he's got a sidecar, which is unprecedented and SHOULD be awesome. But every time I catch a glimpse of his robot mode...Yeow. That thing simply doesn't realize any of the potential it might've had.

I would just like to say that I think it's extremely cool that I just had to look up "Bulletbike" because I had no idea what the hell it was. Not that I think I know "everything", but I had no idea there were G1 characters I hadn't heard of. Bulletbike's not that great looking a toy, but I'll bet a Classics version would be extremely rad. Or Generations. You know.

And now this.

Love: Rodimus Prime. Yeah, I know. But I did. Because I thought the toy looked really neat when it came out. Simpler than Optimus, but with this cool futuristic styling, and a toy vibe that felt, at the time at least, like it did a really good job of capturing the movie aesthetic. Plus, ten-year-old Scourge was really excited by the idea of a new Autobot leader, especially the "Chosen One", and the new Autobots that went with him. It was exciting that the entire main cast of the show could move forward and bring on an entirely new dynamic. Yeah, it clearly didn't work out, but I don't care, I liked it. I was probably the only kid that was pissed off about the idea of Optimus Prime coming back. That is, pissed until I saw the Powermaster Prime toy, but we've been over this. So a few years ago I found a new reissue Rodimus at a closeout shop for eight bucks, and I totally made that happen. And yeah, I still love it.

Hate: Devastator. Not the character as such, he's not on my "super rad love it" list, but he had his moments. No, I'm talking strictly about the toy in this case. Can you imagine if a "truth-in-advertising" group had influenced Devastator's scene in the movie?

DEVASTATOR: Prepare for Oblivion
KUP: Devastator. Okay, I know his weakness. Hot Rod, you look at him funny. I'm gonna go get a slight gust of wind.

Really liked the individual Constructicons, though. And as far as in-story, well, remember, I did nominate the Less-than-Jolly Green Giant for the Hall of Fame. I just did not care for that toy at all.

I get what you're saying about Devastator, though he's probably my favorite gestalt despite his somewhat precarious level of stability. Mine still looks pretty good, but it's so playworn that these days it's likely to fall apart at the waist rather than hold together. But I used to have the most fun putting it together when I was a kid. And as you say, the individual robots are great. I love how different they all are, both in vehicle mode and transformation schemes. Only the color scheme ties them all together.
