Clear Knockoffs

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Clear Knockoffs

Post by 138 Scourge »

Holy crap, you guys, would you look at this?

There's the clear Seekers, or the Clear Optimus, available in build-it-yourself variety or fully assembled here.. And you can get 'em with model paints included to make, say, Crystal Thundercracker or Crystal Sunstorm or like that. These look amazing to me, and despite the price being pretty high on 'em, I'm seriously considering getting one of the Seekers. It's just so damn pretty.

Admittedly, I'm sort of a sucker for clear toys, but man, that'd look so good with the other guys.

Erg, if not for the price....

Seriously though, the customizing potential of that clear jet.....

Yeah, there's no end of things that could be done with those clear Seekers. No friggin' end. I doubt I have the skill to pull anything too ambitious off, but a Crystal Sunstorm would be SO friggin' nice.

But if I broke down and got one of those sets, I'd be worried that I'd screw it up and then there's fifty bucks wasted. I dunno, have to think on this one.

I'm actually gonna try this myself anyway, so I'd rather put the $50 towards materials rather than this.

Starting a production line would be cheaper in the long run, if one has the resources on hand.

The clear variant is *very* appealling, as it is something I cannot do myself, and lends itself to making stealth recolors.

Scourge, you would have plenty of margin for error on these, unless you are working from a clear mould. And, even then, you could likely clean any mistakenly applied paint off the figure.

Yeah, I'd be working from a clear mold and trying to do a crystal Sunstorm, most likely. The kit for that is right here. So I'd have the clear paints and clear parts, but I've never tried something on this scale before. So, about forty-four bucks for the parts, twelve for the shipping...I dunno, I've heard of more expensive Seekers.

Dude, this page pretty much solves my custom fodder problems.

My only worry is that somebody will shut them the heck down before my stuff ships.
