Hrm... Really thought Soundwave would win. Though I am glad to have Dinobot there, nice to have a BW character ranked that high in the Hall of Fame.

Eh. I mean, I liked the character in the show and everything, but going by the original toy...that mold is easily my least favorite Transformer ever. That biases me against him something fierce.

But I guess it is good to see a damn good show get some recognition and all.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

I'm guessing it was the character as portrayed on the show rather than the toy that won Dinobot his slot on the Hall of Fame.

Oh come on, there are far shittyer Transformers toys out there than Dinobot.

I suspect a lot of people are. I'm torn, myself. On one hand, I'm glad that Dinobot and BW made it into the Hall of Fame, so that it's not a solid 1984 showcase, and my favorite series and one of my favorite characters gets recognition. On the other hand, Willis is doing his best to ruin this one for me. I called that he would try to take credit for the win, but I honestly did not expect THE FIRST THING HE SAID after the win to be 'I take full credit'. That and these shitty, shitty SG Ravage Botcon strips has me pretty close to burning down Ohio.

Y'see what's wrong with this picture?! I should be ecstatic about this, but one annoying attention whore is ruining the whole thing for me! I think I liked fandom back before we all had screen names and expected recognition.

So who is Willis, and what exactly has he done? I've seen some of you discussing him, but I have to admit I have no idea who he is.

Walky. The guy who writes and draws Shortpacked. He's also hobnobby with M Sipher and a bunch of the old ATT guard from the mid-90s, over on their dumb #wiigii IRC channel. It was, in a large part, thanks to Walky and his friends' votes at the AllSpark that Dinobot even got nominated, I suspect, if only because they're a bunch of BW fanboys. (Seriously, the idiotic amount of love BW seems to get almost fifteen years after the fact is really starting to piss me off. I'm convinced BM was a better show at this point.)

Once Dinobot was actually nominated, Walky made a big fucking deal about it and promoted the shit out of Dinobot being voted in in his comic and on his blog. Bleah.

And now my poster is useless!

Ok, I've heard of Shortpacked. Never read it, but I've heard of it. So he's part of a clique of whatever the equivalent of "geewunners" is for Beast Wars, essentially.

Partially! He does like G1 and crap though, being that he grew up with it. And for all his rabble-rousing he was kind of still expecting Soundwave to win. Shortpacked itself is Funny Sometimes and Crappy Other Times. Really hit and miss. The best strips are the Batman ones.
