Botcon 2010 is Generation 2

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!

This gets back to my question of why waste a once a year set on inward looking stupidity though?

I should not be waffling so much on a set with a re-tool of that Sunstreaker/Sideswipe mould.

You'd rather they do that on a larger scale? Personally, I like it. I was meh with Spark, but Breakdown freakin seals it for me. And I really hope they retool the hell out of that mold. It really is fantastic.

I would rather they not do it at all. "Autobot Spark" is the result of bending over backwards to use a name they do not have copy-right for.

Of course, even "Spark" is a pretty bad name.

I'm still all for it. This comes from the same part of me that want's a mass release AM Thundercracker. And repaints of Ultra Magnus, Cyclonus, and Wreck Gar in their black hole colors from "the Killing Jar". But then I also want a Neon Night Attack Transmetal II Megatron.

Oh god. That would be, like, ghost grey, with tons of teal and yellow detailing, and select parts done up in mirrored vacuum-metallized silver! Oh lord, it would be beautiful!

Something that fantastically horrible would have to have flourescent in there somewhere. Green and orange at the very least. But yeah, I'll have to custom this at some point.

To brochure is up, saying the other three figures in the box set. Clench (expected/10), Streetwise the Protectobot (...okay, whatever) and Sky-Byte?!

I don't even know who they're going to make him a repaint of. Though I hope it's Sharkticon, that guy's awesome.

Streetwise and Sky-Byte are both left field choices that no one saw coming. My guess with Streetwise is that they wanted another unreleased G2 Combiner component to pair up with Breakdown. He'll likely be a repaint of TFU Prowl.

As for Sky-Byte, I have no idea what the hell he's doing in a G2 set. I can only assume FunPub was trying to top last year's equally inexplicable inclusion of Scourge in the toy set. Or that one of their higher-ups insisted on having Sky-Byte in the set, and even though they told him "Uh, no, it's a G2 set this year" he just wasn't having it.

It's likely that someone figured Sky-Byte had enough of a garish colour scheme to fit the bill. Someone who really wanted to do Sky-Byte.

Clench I think will probably be a repaint of movie Ironhide. Skybyte I hope they just repaint him. Same toy, different colors. Let's face it, that toy has always had a garish color scheme. I think Prowl's right about Streetwise, likely to be a repaint of UniProwl. Probably with a retooled head. Then there's still the question of the show exclusives. That leaves about 8 other characters they could still do.
