customizing question

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!
Generation 1, Generation 2 - Removable fists? Check. Unlicensed vehicle modes? Check. Kickass tape deck robot with transforming cassette minions? DOUBLE CHECK!!!

customizing question

Post by Dominic »

Hookay....

2 customizing prospects for TFU Dragstrip:

-Red Mirage: This would be a reference to the pre-TF Takara Mirage. This would be obviously consistent with the other Takara-based custom figures in my collection. The down-side of course is that it would require me to paint a yellow toy white. (White paint being very difficult to work with.)

-G2 Dragstrip: This is obvously inspired by the G2 Breakdown in this year's set. It would be mostly black, with blue highlights. (The shade of blue I would use is one of the more reliable GW colors.) And, there would also be a prospect for painting up a Deadend out of TFU Sunstreaker. (G2 colors would be difficult on the Deadend.) Black is an easy color to apply. Of course, the black recolors are boring. And, this would be a custom intended to compliment an ugly official toy, (convention Breakdown).

It is realistically possible that Dragstrip could be officially released at BotCon this year. But, if not, I am unsure about which figure to make.

Thoughts?

Fracture would be a much better base figure to work with.

I doubt they'd go and make a convention exclusive of him, considering there's so many other figures they could do--Grimlock, G2swipe, and Clench, just to name a few.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

On the other hand, Dragstrip would be cheap and easy, and thematically consistent with Breakdown.

Would they want to release yet another Grimlock?

Either way, I have never even seen Fracture. But, I have Dragstrip on hand.
