Rebuilding the Gobots

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

*nightly update*

Crane Brain

Anyway, no idea who this clown is. Just saw him on the list. Oh, a crane. That's fun. Horrible name. Doesn't he know all construction vehicles are supposed to be painted Constructicon Green? But let's see if we can't find a nice new crane to help him out.

*looks for some cranes*

I kind of like this. Yeah, it's a 4 wheeled crain as opposed to the original 6 wheel set-up that Craney has, but I like it. Looks nice and beefy like it could go off-roading just as well as work on-site in the city. Just paint it yellow and we're golden. What do you think?

-Puzzlor is my white whale.
I used to have Pocket, the yellow lamborghini that formed Puzzler's right arm. Loved that stupid little robot with his tiny little arms. *L* Puzzler the toy is fairly decent, although the individual cars seem kind of... not cool. Sure, a lambo, that's cool. But for some reason the others just don't strike me as cool. And the origin story for Puzzler given in the fiction is absolutely the worst possible thing they could've come up with. It's just.... soooooo lame.

Oh my....Crane Brain is worse than "Energon" Arcee or movie Elita-1, with their "rev my butt" handle-bars.

I just watched the video. Wow.

The art and animation were consistently worse that G1. That is....morbidly impressive. The writing was also pretty bad. There were even more "how did he not die there" moments than in G1 and "GI Joe" combined.

Scooter is *really* annoying. Even his power-set is ill-defined. (Is he a shape-changer, or a hologram user? Who knows!) And, despite the animation models looking like toys, there were still plenty of deviations from the toys. Even putting aside mass shifting, the models were inconsistent with the toys. (Scooters face is where exactly?)

There were some interesting bits though. I liked that Cy-Kill was working with humans, and the humans were happy to go along with it. And, as badly as it was presented, the fact that Cy-Kill had a dedicated control system for Puzzlor made sense.

Dom
-still wants a Puzzlor though.

Crane Brain's a big hit with the ladies. :P

And yeah, the show. . . the show doesn't age well. Hell, it wasn't much good when it was new!

Let's do Cy-kill!

http://www.tfu.info/Gobots/Renegades/Cy ... y-kill.htm

Ah, Cy-kill. What's there to say, really? He has a tendency to get owned by Leader-1 every day and killed by Megatron every other day. Even as a kid I never viewed him as a credible threat, leaving that honor to Crasher. As leader of the Renegades, a motorcycle alt-mode just doesn't seem... bad enough. We're used to our evil robot leaders being guns and tanks and crazy spaceships with buttloads of guns. Meanwhile Cy-kill's a bike. Ohhh, what to do? Do we make him a chopper? A super bike? Something else entirely? I don't even know.

I think this might be kind of cool... sort of like General Grievous' uni-wheel thingy.

Image

But it looks even more lean than a motorcycle! I mean, sure, you could probably find a way to transform it into a robot (they made a stop light into a pretty cool bot), but I don't know. If he were a uniwheel, it'd have to be a heavily modified, super cool one. . .

One idea- Cy-kill could be made up of 2 parts- a robot rider that combines with the bike to help bulk him up. Whether it would form one half or just one part like the head (like Armada Sideways), I don't know.

I'm just going to throw a red bike out there.

Image

Thank-you, Honda. This is their VFR1200F, whatever that means. It's red and silver and a super-bike. I know Cy-kill started life as a chopper, but I don't want him to have pipe arms again. Plus, choppers have typically never made good robots. TFA Oilslick was probably the one exception. What do you think?

*EDIT*

Or maybe the Dodge Tomohawk?

I'll start off by saying I kind of like Cy-Kill's pipe arms. Actually, I really kind of like his whole cartoon model. I don't know why, he's just sort of neat looking. Also, I really dug his black recolor. That was

Okay, I could almost swear I've seen something like this. Anyway, I think that's a great idea, if nothing else, it really helps out with the disguise factor. You could get away with driverless cars, maybe, but nobody's fooled by a motorcycle driving around on it's own. I like the idea of the whole rider becoming part of the robot, maybe have the bike parts transform around the rider? That's a fine line between transforming robot and powersuit, but this is gonna be unorthodox anyway. Would the driver be able to come off? 'Cause if so, you got a kind of Legoformer anyway.

Also, I suggest that said driver be completely covered in leather riding gear or, I guess, racing protective gear, depending on how you want this fella to roll. Damn, now I sort of want to play with this idea. There's a few ways it could go.

Oil Slick basically was a Tomahawk. More or less. He was a bad ass four wheeled bike, anyway. So for Cy-Kill to be extra bad ass, he could be a Tomahawk/Rider combination.

Hmmm.

The Tomohawk would be an easier toy to make, but the Rider would be more interesting.

Now that'd be an interesting idea. So instead of it being two components combining into one, the rider would still be a part of the bike that couldn't come off. That could be really cool. The rider would probably be attached at the butt, and from the waste up he could move around. At least one leg would have to be able to touch the ground to support the bike.

The rider would HAVE to be Akira from Rival Schools! :D

*L* But you know, something along those lines, like you said. The face would be completely covered with an evil dark visor and full riding gear. Yeah. I'm liking this.
