I am skipping this line. But, here are my thoughts on what I have seen in stores
Besides tweaking the packaging logos, another change is the way the character profiles are written.
The two Voyagers, Ironhide and Bludgeon, are presented almost as a "versus" pack. Ironhide's profile talks about how he is hunting Bludgeon. Bludgeon's profile talks about his preparation for fighting Autobots after a recent loss. (The loss is a reference to a TrU exclusive pack.)
The profiles for Bumblebee and Armorhide talk about their discovery of, and susequent hunt for, Dirge. Dirge's profile describes how hewn was hiding, and then discovered, at a NEST base.
This is not the first time that the packages of toys sold in a wave have referenced each other. The "Cybertron" Minicons)f sets did this. (In that case, toys from different sets were often intended to be combined, and were most likely gang-molded.) I am surprised that Hasbro has not been doing this for the main line more consistently.
The toys:
Jungle Recon Ironhide is the truck that thugs ride around in.
Bludgeon does not look right as a movie toy, but will probably end up on the TFU shelves of most collectors.
Bumblebee is more or less obligatory for the movie line. And, there seems to be consistent demand.
Armorhide is a recolor of a good mold from the last movie line. I do not know what the significance of the "10-22-80" stamp in the buggy's roof is.
Dirge looks to be a good jet-former, and has been getting good reviews as far as I know.

Re: thoughts on NEST figures
I noticed the 'storytelling' profiles thing too, and thought it was pretty cool. Hopefully this carries into other waves. Could make for profiles as well-written as the ones from the latter half of the 2007 Movie line.
Dirge and Bludgeon, the only new molds of this first wave, are indeed, really good. In fact, the NEST molds seem likely to make up for the underwhelming performance of the initial batch of ROTF stuff. That Ironhide remold looks really good too, and may be the only other thing from the wave I pick up.
