thoughts on "Nefarious"

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

thoughts on "Nefarious"

Post by Dominic »

Transformers (Tales of the Fallen) #5: Unlike the previous issues of "Tales of the Fallen", issue 5 sets up for a new series, "Nefarious". I do not know why IDW printed it as part of "Tales of the Fallen", but it could easily have been presented as ""Nefarious" #0. In any case, the main point of this issue is explaining why Ravage's death in "Revenge of the Fallen" did not stick and getting him in place for "Nefarious". Grade: B/C I was tempted to skip this. But, Furman did unexpectedly well with "Maximum Dinobots", so this series is on my pull list:

Ooh, was this the Ravage one? Yeah, Furman really surprised me here with how clever this was. There's *very* little dialogue, and it works well, especially for Ravage. You're right though, it definitely reads more like a zero issue than a one-shot. I haven't heard much about this 'Nefarious' thing though; it's written by Furman? I shall have to check it out.

I'm considering looking into it as well. I'm not a big fan of the movie designs on the comics page, and I have no real emotional investment in the characters, but I'd be interested in the series just to see what Furman's come up with.

Dunno if Furman is worth following everywhere at this point. But, yes, he is the writer on "Nefarious".

Dom
-will give this a chance.....

I generally enjoy his more recent writing more than you do. :)
