You should also consider ferrets. Ferrets are also good.

Giggity.

... what? Don't look at me like that!

Joking aside, I also thought about chinchillas. I also had the thought of an evil petting zoo with a funnel web spider, black mamba, the really deadly type of scorpion (I can't remember if it's the black or the brown), a fish tank with a box jellyfish and a blue-ringed octopus... Trying to think of what other poisonous creatures I can come up with.

Most reptiles are toxic to some degree. (They are not slimey, but salmonella and other bacteria are issues.)

Skip the jelly-fish and get a man-o-war.

I would never get an octupus, as it would make me crazy to have a monkey-level smart animal that I would need to leave in water rather than take for walks and such.

True story:
About 10 years back, in the city of Melrose (just north of Boston), a guy had a cobra. And, the snake got away. The guy was out in his yard with the snake, (which was apparently routine for him), and the snake made off.

He was playing in his picket-fenced yard....with a poisonous snake. When he called the police, he explained that such a thing had never happened before, and the snake was (up until then), content to stay in the yard.

The snake turned up in a nearby elementary school. (Nobody was hurt.) The police considered bringing charges, but decided against it. As it turned out, they decided that the lambasting and mockery of the local press was punishment enough.

It's a girl dog. And it's some kind of screwy mixed mutt breed, I don't know enough about dogs to know or honestly care of which. My father insists on keeping her outside, but he's moving out soon so I'm gonna change that--especially since it's getting colder now.

And we...never got around to naming her proper. I suck.

Just popping in to say that I would loooove so much the opportunity to have a pet cobra. Those are some of the most fascinating snakes ever, and, like, a King Cobra? The kinda thing that can get over ten feet long? It warms my heart to know that they exist in the world.

My brother, for a time, contemplated getting rattlesnakes for an aquarium that he's got. His logic was that rattlers have a similar disposition to king snakes and the like, which make ideal pets. Fortunately, his wife wasn't letting him have rattlers with two kids in the house.

As for dogs, wasn't that wild about 'em, myself, but then I met my girlfriend's dog. That puppy's pretty cool.

Ferrets are quite possibly the most adorable creatures to ever exist. A pity they're illegal over here.

Anyway, I picked up the MMPR 2010 Putty Patrol figure. Can't believe I almost forgot to pick up one of these guys. See, I mainly got him for the accessories: He comes with the combined super blaster, and a suped-up version of the Blade Blaster that I'm not familiar with, but am giving to the Green Ranger anyway, since he needs a blaster. Anyway, the Putty figure itself is just fine, it's built the same as the Rangers, so he gets all the same articulation. Good molding on the costume spandex. Kinda visually bland, but that's also kinda the point. If I had the money, I might be tempted to troop-build these guys, but this one will do just fine for getting kicked around by my Rangers.

Prowl, where do you live? They were illegal here in the People's Republic for a time. But, even this over-regulated state figured out that unenforcable (and pointless to begin with) restriction on what animals people can own served no purpose.

I have heard Rattlers have more advanced/differentiated personalities than one might expect.

A cobra would be a good "recreational" animal in the sense that it would be as much or more an art/conversation piece than it would be a pet. A dog, cat, or monkey would be a friend. A cobra would be more a piece of live-stock.

Good man, taking her inside. (Why does your father want her outside in the first place? Seems to defeat the purpose of having the dog around.)

And, I can see not caring what kind of dog she is. The important thing is that she is your dog. Certain breeds have certain traits. But, if a mix has the traits you want, then that is fine as well.

Chinchillas are pretty sweet. It's like the perfect combination of a bunny, a mouse, and a squirrel, so it's basically a pokemon. And they bathe in dirt! The trick is getting them to be comfortable being touched and held and stuff, but that just takes some time. Also, you need a room where they can live that's not like, the living room, becuase they are nocturnal.

The Green Ranger shouldn't have a blaster, since the blaster holster was always occupied by the Dragondagger holster--except in all the American footage, which made an inconsistancy.

Anyway, the fancy blaster add-on is the Thunder Slinger. In Zyuranger, all of the Rangers got one and it was released as a toy and everything, because it was a major plot point that Bandora was now making much stronger Golems (Putties), so they got these to be able to destroy them. The episode was mostly-adapted in MMPR, and we got an episode where Rita makes Super Putties, so Jason and Tommy have to get the add-ons from Titanus--but they were never seen again after that episode.

Have Blue and Black hold onto the edges.

My father basically doesn't want to go through the effort of housetraining her, among other things. But I figure it won't take too long.

I will! Eventually!

I have found breed knowledge to be oddly helpful in terms of naming. It gives a basis for irony, or just a derivative name. For example, I once named a pitbull Jack. It worked because the breed tends to flail (or "jack-hammer") when it jumps, and the name was simple like the dog it was given to.

The right name will come to you though.

House-training, like any other training, 1 part routine with 1 part love and 1 part patience. Remember, your dog wants to do what you tell her to do. Any mistakes she makes are mistakes, not rebellion.
