"What? Transformers made from animals instead of vehicles and stuff? Doesn't sound so great, throw it to Kenner division, maybe they can make a quick buck or something." Beast Wars, Machine Wars, Beast Machines... seeing a pattern? Coming soon: "Wars Wars"
...So, did they ever show Cohrada's pre-Beast mode?
I think he is shown to be a gun emplacement. I could be wrong though.
He was a Cybertronian jet. Issue 3 of Ascending shows his alt mode in one small panel.
The only plan with the "Beast Wars" comics was to show a bunch of characters. Furman had nothing to say, nor any plan to set up anything beyond yet another faux-epic.
I don't think that's an entirely fair or accurate assessment of the Beast Wars comics. The plan of "The Gathering" was to wrap up the loose end about the stasis pods from the show, having Magmatron trying to use those pods to supplement his own personal army with more troops while Razorbeast obviously tried to stop him. That story actually started out out with a relatively small cast of characters until the rest of those from the pods finally arrived at the end. "The Ascending" on the other hand jumped into a faux-epic and was too short and rushed of a story to really do justice to all the characters in it.

Jet, huh? Don't think I care for that too much, I like the gun emplacement idea better. It at least sorta works with one of his alt modes, and doesn't contradict the other. I tried to work up some kinda Cybertronian motorcycle alt. mode for him, couldn't make it work.

I see what you mean. X-wing-on-crack jet mode with forward pointing... um... pointy things and a huge ass cannon out the middle. I definately see the likeness to Straxus' alt mode.
