Re: August Hauls
I got Transformers Animated: The Allspark Almanac. Kind of a let-down that there's nothing pertaining to Season 3 in here (something they'll inevitably make us buy later...) but otherwise, from what I've flipped through so far, an extremely thorough, well-executed and entertaining book. Especially for someone like myself who loves all things Animated. And I've already seen at least two references to Energon! Joyous!

Re: August Hauls
I got a box from Prowl, starring Activator Bumblebee and with special guest: Oil Slick!
Thanks, Prowl, you're good people.

Re: August Hauls
I'm the biggest sucker in the world. Went out to dinner and a day on the town with some old friends of mine. Girls, actually! I have no chance with them.
But I bought stuff.
I'm a sucker because I bought Rise of Cobra Storm Shadow. I don't know why, honestly. I guess just to have him. Even though I have like four Storm Shadows from the 25th line already. Argh.
Then, bookstore. Got Rurouni Kenshin volumes 18 and 19 because I need to keep chipping away at this series. Only nine more to go! I also got All-Star Superman volume 1 because Dom recommends this series like it's the best thing to happen to comics since The Dark Knight Returns (This is sarcasm. DKR is good on its own, but the scene it spawned was horrible.), and I figure that if Dom says it's good...it's probably good.
I got an NIN shirt because NIN rules and I don't have one. Also, remember the non-propoganda cover for All Hail Megatron #10? This one? They made a shirt of it. It's just got a generic purple-bottom TF logo at the top, though, and some of the colours are off slightly--the Constructicons have an aqua wash over them, and Skywarp is bluer than he should be. Also, Rumble (black and red) is coloured like Frenzy (blue and purple). But I don't even care because it's awesome.
So yeah. I'm a sucker!

Oh shi-, they made a shirt of that cover? That was the one issue I didn't get the poster-style cover of just because the other cover was so cool. Where'd you get it? (I'm calling Hot Topic right now, but I could be wrong)

You would be correct, yes. Only twenty bucks! Colour issues notwithstanding, it's pretty cool.

Re: August Hauls
So, I ran into Ejector today. I dunno, I decided to go ahead and pick him up. Now I don't have to pay a lick of attention to ROTF until Lockdown or Bludgeon show up!
Some of other new toys were sorta interesting, though. Dead End looks kinda neat, even if I like the dark Sideways' color more. BlazeMaster looks ridiculous, but I'll give props (hah, he's a chopper geddit) for the Micromaster homage. Gears is the only deluxe currently tempting me, and that's only because I really like the G1 character he's homaging.
Anyway, Ejector. He's okay, though his left arm assembly's fallen off three times in the five minutes I've messed with him. Neat-lookin, and definitely evil-lookin, which suits his alt. mode.

Toast, no. Toast is just fine.

Re: August Hauls
I would have thought that a repaint of the movie Blackout mold would have been a good Blazemaster homage. At least the helicopter is somewhat closer to Blazemaster's original toy than the news chopper is. Still, any Micromaster reference is fun to see.138 Scourge wrote:BlazeMaster looks ridiculous, but I'll give props (hah, he's a chopper geddit) for the Micromaster homage.
Re: August Hauls
Bought m'self some birthday toys, I did. HA Sideswipe, 25th Cobra 5-pack, and Ejector. And I was given Swerve, Dune Runner, Acc. Suit Ripcord and the Doctor. All cool stuff. Ejector is a little unstable in toaster mode, but gets point not only for being a toaster, but essentially a robot gremlin. I share JT's disappointment with Sideswipe, but whattya gonna do. I remain an ardent fan of the line based on Bumblebee, plus the other figures still look like they've got potential.
I was initally leery of the Accelerator suit figs, but I may not have given them a fair shake. Ripcord's a pretty fun toy, as well as being more solid and dynamic than a lot of the other figures. He's noticeably missing the wrist gatling gun though, despite it being mentioned on his filecard. The Doctor looks cool, but all his stuff likes to fall off-- his wig, for example. And where's his monocle?

I disappear.
