Takara's MP Rodimus colors versus Hasbro MP Rodimus Colors

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

Takara's MP Rodimus colors versus Hasbro MP Rodimus Colors

Post by Tigermegatron »

Takara's MP-09 Rodimus colors verses Hasbro TRU MP Rodimus colors.
which colors do you prefer & why.

I prefer the Takara MP-09 Rodimus Prime colors because they look more
adult. more mature & more geared towards fans/collectors/older
Teenagers.

I also like the Takara MP-09 Colors because the robot chest flame
decals & over all white pearl inner face colors, neck colors, other
white colors look more like the 1986 Movie/season 3 rodimus Prime
colors.

I honestly don't like how sneaky Hasbro was trying to Color their MP
Rodimus. by trying to take away the robot look that was geared towards
rodimud prime.
the most OFFENDING part is the lower legs decals that look like hotrod
1986 lower legs decals. I'm also not a fan of the neon yellow huge-r
flame decal on the robot chest. the light blue eye decals just look
awful. the red colored blow torch attachment looks awful compared to
the grey colored takara version.

Personally the hasbro's MP Rodimus colored version looks like the KO
Bootleg colored version.

If your a huge rodimus Prime character fan. then I suggest you get the
Takara version.

Most fans complained that the MP-09 Rodimus first version had some
design flaws. like the lower legs panels, the springs in the feet & the
trailer being too narrow & damaging the yellow wing spiler when it
slides in to form the rodimus prime tractor trailer alt mode.

I have both the Takara MP-09 Rodimus Prime & the Hasbro Rodimus MP
toy. honestly the only fixed thing I see is the lower legs panels has
a longer hinge & the arms have worse elbow joints that make the elbows
now looser than the takara version. it doesn't look like the feet
springs were fixed for the hasbro version. since hasbro didn't include
a trailer in their version,it doesn't matter it they made the yellow
spoiler thinner or shaped different,as theirs no trailer to slide into
in tractor trailer alt mode.

Honestly I have transformed the Takara MP-09 Rodimus Prime toy several
times back & forth. as is the evidence in my various u-tube videos. I
didn't break the lower legs panels & didn't scratch/break anything
else.

Since I also own the hasbro TRU MP Rodimus toy. I studied the lower
leg panels hinge. and didn't see anything spectaular about it. the
hinge does seem more sturdy but out up/down now instead of outward/
inward.

I suspose for $59.99 dollars getting the hasbro version isn't a bad
deal. as the takara version cost around $190.

IMHO,By no means is the Hasbro MP Rodimus toy the superior color/decal
scheme.

In my Book,The Takara MP-09 is the superior colors/decals scheme. also
it's superior because it comes with the trailer.

Hasbro & various on-line TF fans made such a big deal over the
targetmaster that comes with the toy. but it's nothing spectacular as
it doen't peg into the engine nor hand properly. nor does it look good
attached to the hand or engine.

I suspose hasbro should get a few bonus points. for designing the
worlds most Super poseable target master for MP Rodimus. the
targetmaster's got so many articulated joints,it's just incredible.

My guess is Takara slips in the Target master for their MP-09 VERSION
2 Rodimus prime toy. that is suspose to have all the fixed stuff that
the hasbro rodimus toy had like the leg panels new hinge & hopefully
wider trailer gaps so the spolier wings don't scratch when sliding
them in tractor trailer alt mode.

I might get another MP-09 Rodimus Prime first release Takara version.
when the price on-line drops dramatically thanks to the version 2 &
hasbro version reducing the price.

I'm kinda beyond Curious to see what Takara fixes on their version 2
MP Rodimus Prime toy. will takara choose to do a more shinny glossy
color scheme? will takara add more chrome detailing? will takara fix
stuff not fixed on the hasbro version? either way,the toy is suspose
to get released in a few weeks or month,so i'll have all my answer in
a few weeks/month.
