Between this being spring-slump, and the fact that product will get scarce in the run-up to the movie, "buy it now" is the best policy one can have. True, 9 bucks beats 14. But, 14 beat not having the toy at all.

And having just said this, what do you suppose I saw at Wal-Mart today? Yup, you guessed it.

Might as well keep price discussions in the same thread. I drove across town at lunch today to browse Toys R Us. I was surprised to see that their prices are cheaper than Wal-Mart and Target, at least for the moment. Deluxe figures are still $9.99, and Voyagers are $20.99. Ultras are $26 something... everything is a dollar or two less expensive, which isn't what I usually expect from TRU. It might be worth it to check there more often.

I noticed that Target has the deluxe Universe figures on clearance for $9.08. I already have the ones I want, but this might be a last chance to pick the later Universe figures up for a discount if you're missing one.

I can see wanting larger toys for the buck. On the other hand, smaller toys take up less space, (a selling point for both me and Doc W I think).

At this point, the local stores here are sold out, meaning we are likely looking at another pre-movie drought. My goal right now is to get as much customizing done before the toys vanish. I have a Sunstreak and Sideswipe on the way. It is sempting to snag Autobots, but so many of them are so specific that it is difficult to recolor them.

I was in another Target at lunch today, and they had Universe deluxes on clearance for $5.98. I'd say it's well worth checking your local Target.
