SWTF Vader/Anakin

Ancillary, non-main-line stuff. Star Wars TF, Speed Stars, Titanium Series, Robot Heroes, that sort of thing. They're kinda neat, but we all know they're not really that important. Admit it, you know it's true.

SWTF Vader/Anakin

Post by Dominic »

This is an in package review....because I am not spending ~$30 on a toy this bad, even if I were not dropping toys next week.

Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker
Imperial Star Destroyer/Republic Star Destroyer

(I cannot recall how the package defines them. But, you get the idea.)

This is the obligatory faction-switcher for the line. All things considered, Vader/Anakin makes the most sense for this toy in terms of concept. Hasbro could have used a trooper of some kind, or a bounty hunter.

All things considered, this is a bad looking toy. It is packaged as Darth Vader. And, there is a large chunk of "space ship" kibble visible in the box. I dunno, maybe it is a gun. Between looking at the toy in package, and at the back of the package, it is clear how much of the transform involves "take this piece off" or "put this piece on". I would also not be overly suprised if transforming from one of the ships to another involved flipping the whole toy over.

The vehicle modes are overly thick. If the regular Destroyers are regular slices of pizza, then this toy's vehicle modes are double stuffed crust pizza slices. And, the robot modes are uninspired.

It was the best faction switcher that TF has ever produced.

This toy is destined to be the next thing that winds up at all those USA based discount stores. like tjmaxx,ross,marshalls,ollies,etc..

I've seen the toy over a dozen times at almost all the usa based major retail store chains. the toy istelf appears to be a shell former that's super easy to transform like the average basic sized TF toy. I don't like how the alt mode pieces pop on/off & are are needed to hide the robot legs & other stuff. so technically this isn't a transformer,it's a parts former like 1985 omega supreme's toy.

Yeah it sucks. This week is marking the last of the toy collection entirely. The only things I have left are my Playmates Star Trek stuff. Which is monetarily worthless and not even worth the time to sell it. I currently have my GI Joe stuff on ebay. After this I might see about selling off some of my comic book collection.
