Megatron's goal by that point was to be the one and only controlling mind of Cybertron rather than to rule over it.Onslaught Six wrote:BW Megs is dumb. What's a whole planet to rule without anyone to rule over?
That wasn't a life support harness Megatron was in, it was a harness to control the Vehicons and functions of the planet. And the damage was likely caused by the multiple failed attempts to purge himself of his beast mode. Megatron never fought the Dinobots or the Mutants.Tigermegatron wrote:In beastmachines, the reason why BM Megatron is badly damaged & on a life support harness when the BW Maximals arrive on cybertron. is because BM Megatron fought the dinobots led by magmatron & the beast mutants before the maximals returned home to cybertron. from the looks of it megatron got severe battle damage & needed to be attached to that life support harness.
I wouldn't say Shockwave had secured Cybertron. Perhaps he strengthened the Decepticons position, but there were still plenty of Autobots fighting the Decepticons on Cybertron. It wasn't until the animated movie that we learn that the Autobots have finally been forced to retreat from Cybertron to the moon bases, but even then, they still are an army making it difficult for the Decepticons to hold the planet. In the first episode of the 1984 TF cartoon. megatron was successful at taking over planet cybertron. the autobots on cybertron were resistance fighters. after their 4 million sleep on earth, shockwave secured cybertron for megatron. the only one's fighting for control of cybertron after MTMTE episodes were the female autobots. shockwave was so strong he could fight the femeale autobots by himself.
In Beast Machines however, Megatron had won. There was no one left for him to fight, at least until 4 Maximals arrived and with the Oracle's help, formed a resistance against him. And this Megatron had managed to conquer the planet with out a war that lasted millions of years unlike the original Megatron.
