Re: Comics are Awesome III

Today's comics: Aquaman #2, Green Lantern Corps #1 and Green Lantern #20. Kyle's change back from the White Lantern is apparently explained the same as Sinestro's change from rage to will: he had enough willpower to control the outbreak from the other manifestation of the emotional spectrum. That wo...

Re: Star Trek

I've been impressed by how authentic the animated Star Trek is. Within the limitations of the format, they did a nice job making a show that feels like the live action version from a few years earlier. It certainly helps to have the same cast voicing their characters and a lot of the same writers on...

Re: 2024 Hauls

Got The Flash by Mark Waid omnibus vol 2! Mark Waid may be a short tempered jerk, but he wrote an awesome Flash series. I don't think I've read much beyond issue 102 and this book goes through issue 129, so there's plenty of new material for me here.

Detective Comics #222 August 1955 The Great Batman Swindle! Script: Bill Finger Pencils: Dick Sprang Inks: Charles Paris I love the cover with all the "Batmen" sitting around the table, led by the one in the suit and tie, with the genuine article up on the balcony with Robin. The "Br...

Re: Comics are Awesome III

It's off panel, no explanation given that I saw. I guess he can channel the white light when he needs to and the rest of the time he's still a Green Lantern, but that's me inferring. That's disappointing. Kyle being able to transition between White and Green seemingly at will, or even as a temporar...

Re: Star Trek

For Christmas I got the animated Star Trek series from the early 70s on blu-ray. I've never seen most of it. It's that limited Filmation animation that I remember from so many shows growing up, but that aside, it's a pretty faithful attempt to continue the live-action series in a different format. I...

Re: Comics are Awesome III

Todays comics: Flash Comics #1 facsimile, Green Lantern #19/586 and Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum #1. There are all sorts of GL plot points as we start a new arc, but let me just say that I hope we can avoid crossovers for a while. I have a question about the recent story... I've heard Kyle Ray...

Re: Star Trek

Section 31 The first solo tv movie Star Trek is now streaming on Paramount+. To be honest, I haven't watched it, nor do I plan on it. The reviews I've seen all say it's terrible. Same here. I think Section 31 as portrayed in DS9 is as much as we need to see of the organization. It's more effective ...
