Re: Sorry for the 24 hour downtime, site up now

I wondered what was up. The site's been slow to load all day, so I figured the buys weren't ironed out just yet. No problem, these things happen.

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

I don't think we're ever going to agree on this one. :!: edit: though just to add one more comment to the mix, didn't Bombshell talk about manipulating Sunstreaker in some way, at the beginning of issue #12? Playing off his fears and insecurities, which he learned thanks to Hunter? Meaning Sunstreak...

Re: November Hauls

I bought AHM volume 2 yesterday, so I've finally got the whole story.

It's much better to relax in my recliner and read the whole thing at a leisurely pace than to flip through it at the bookstore.

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

That's different--men and/or women are still part of your own species. We are conditioned to sympathise with our other humans, generally. This is, as ShockTrek said, more like if a colony of ants raped you. I don't see it as being that different, the principal is still the same. You still don't wan...

Re: Comics are awesome.

To put it even more simply, I have to care about a character in order to care about what happens to him.

Re: Transformers - ongoing series

Well, it looks like the Ironhide death may be for real. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=23606 As revealed yesterday in an exclusive preview here at CBR, IDW Publishing's first "Transformers" ongoing series in half a decade will kick off with the death of Ironhide, a ...

Re: Comics are awesome.

I am not saying "Emerald Twilight' was perfect. Everything Hal Jordan did in that story was so far out of character that it robbed the story of any credibility. Details like the number of rings are trivial. When I was reading Green Lantern and Emerald Twilight occurred I was in my 20s, so it h...

Re: Comics are awesome.

Given that "Emerald Twilight" was a terrible idea/story, I'll still second this. About Rayner, I mean. While his own book wasn't so hot most of the time, guys like Morrison and Waid were able to do great things with him. And mmmmaybe the "Rebirth" thing was necessary and it did ...

Re: Comics are awesome.

(The fact that Hal Jordan in this role was spouting off what is now DC's current line is perhaps the only justification for bringing him back.) Can't agree with you here. The hamfisted and idiotic destruction of the Hal Jordan character was a mistake that needed to be undone, and Johns did about as...

Re: Transformers - ongoing series

I don't mind a grim tone and open hostility between humans and Transformers after what Megatron did. That makes sense. But yeah, I hope it's not like G2, with multiple, multiple characters biting the dust. I enjoy G2 as a one-time comic series, but looking back I wonder how long things could have go...
