Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

Why are you even arguing the whole "well he might have survived if...." scenario that requires a willful misreading of the both the context and the writer's intent? It's hardly misreading when the context ambiguously ends with only a panel of Skywarp's weapon going off with out any furthe...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

I don't buy that philosophy, that means eventually there will be only 1 Decepticon left because they won't be able to bring in new blood. I can understand not allowing just anybody to take leadership of the faction, but then there shouldn't be this "only the guy who kills me can be leader"...

Re: What needs to be done to improve TF3?

I'd also have to say they need to cut down on the crude humor. We don't need stuff like humping dogs/robots in the film. Or a close up of Agent Simmon's thong while he explains why he's wearing it. Personally, I just don't think that kind of stuff is necessary or funny. Robot characters need more at...

Re: Shane McCarthy interview

Looks like his answer was "His fate is now out of my hands..." Which is seemingly suggesting it was meant to be ambiguous for a future writer to decide if he's dead or not.

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

So, yeah, somebody being shot in the face=sensibly reached conclusion that somebody is dead. No, these are robots we're talking about here and we've seen through IDW's comics that they can survive a great deal of physical damage (Kup for example). Heck, Megatron in this same issue gets a sniper hit...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

And, you think Thundercracker being shot in the face/head would not be messy along the lines of what happened to Brawn and co on the shuttle in TFTM? I never said it wouldn't be messy, what I'm said is that Brawn and co weren't killed that easily. They were hit by several shots before they went dow...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

No closure is shit like a guy randomly appearing, who happens to look like a guy who died in the last movie, has no dialogue, and has no explanation, and then dying. No closure is a group of robots who happen to look exactly like another group of robots who are doing something else over there. No c...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

This is Shane McCarthy, not Grant Morrison, whose writing tends to be deliberately hard to read and frustrating. . (And, even Morrison is pretty clear on stuff like this.) AHM is neither that hard, nor frustrating to follow unless one expects/demands bad genre cliches as plot points. Not that frust...

Re: Shane McCarthy interview

The focus of the shot is Skywarp (and his killing), not Thundercracker (and his dying). Skywarp is the focus of the closure. Thundercracker is just there to die for it. Seeing a gun go off is not closure or a true indication of a character actually being killed, just the implications. With out actu...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread

Y'see what we're saying here, Sparky? I know where you're coming from, but I just don't see McCarthy's writing being that direct. Since he ended it at "Skywarp's weapon discharges..." with out any sort of follow up to indicate "...and kills him", it seems to me McCarthy intentio...
