Re: Comics are Awesome III

Speaking of which, wasn't Korugar destroyed by the First Lantern? Did it get rebuilt or was a new planet named Korugar during Sinestro's series or something? Yeah, it was destroyed by the First Lantern. Sinestro attempted to force Kyle to rebuild it while he had the White Lantern ring, but Kyle was...

Re: Skybound Transformers series

Transformers #4 - I liked this issue better than the others, but I can't really say why. Autobots acting like Autobots is probably a big part of it. I will say that after reading so much of Ruckley's Skywarp from IDW2 in the last week, the way this version of Skywarp goes out like a chump in this i...

Re: Transformers 2019 (IDW comic series) discussion

Reading through this series, I think so far the Wreckers Tread and Circuits mini-series is the weakest part of the continuity. It's not bad, it's just not at the level of most of the other material. Pretty much anything Ruckley wrote is good to very good, while the quality of the other writers varie...

Re: Comics are Awesome III

Green Lantern #7 - Most of the issue is flashback as Hal tells Razer about the ill-fated mission to Korugar. The United Planets takes over administration of the Green Lantern Corps, apparently at the Guardians' behest, and they figure with so few GLs left, they'd better ration their resources. Sect...

Re: Transformers 2019 (IDW comic series) discussion

W1 had the six stage infiltration protocol and Ore 13 storyline, and IDW2 was a great pre-war story with some nice dialogue. Feels like with Skybound we're getting the bare minimum, basic Transformers plot just to hang action scenes on. The art is good, at least. Furman could not even finish the 6-...

Re: Transformers 2019 (IDW comic series) discussion

Been meaning to read through this series again. Honestly, the Skybound series is not quite hitting the mark. It is good enough to read because I am still (barely) reading comics. But, it will not be the thing that keeps me coming back. Same here, see my comments over on the dedicated discussion thr...

Re: is the hunt over?

I'm pretty opportunistic now in terms of collecting. The last real "I wish they'd make this figure" I wanted for years was a comic accurate Jhiaxus, and we finally got one. Other than that, I just get the occasional figure that appeals to me. The Studio Series have probably been my main pu...

Re: Retro Comics are Awesome

Green Lantern #71 September 1969 The City that Died! Script - John Broome Pencils - Gil Kane Inks - Joe Giella It's been a long time since we had two stories in an issue, and we've got the classic combination of Broome, Kane and Giella on this first story. Interesting to see Broome give Hal this di...

Re: Transformers 2019 (IDW comic series) discussion

I've started re-reading this series now that I have all of it in collected form, which is honestly how it reads best. It's nice to be reminded of just how much I enjoyed it and why.

Re: Fall 2023 Hauls

Finally got the final IDW2 Transformers volume "War's End", so I have that entire continuity in hardcover. Looking at the contents, it collects Transformers #37–43, Transformers: War’s End #1–4, and Transformers: Fate of Cybertron which wraps it all up. I still hate that this continuity en...
