Re: multiversal musings

Actually, Animated itself *is* linked to other alternate universes, per The Allspark Almanac. Though it also would seem to have its own corresponding versions of TransTech and Shattered Glass, so make of that what you will. Going back to IDW, it's worth noting that, if you believe Perceptor in the l...

Re: Thundercracker is the best-looking seeker

Doesn't color generally code the same for everyone except people who are colorblind? Otherwise, we would all see everything as different colors. Some would see Optimus as red blue and silver and others would see green yellow and pink. And no one would ever agree on any color ever. Generally, yes, b...

Re: Thundercracker is the best-looking seeker

I've always thought of Dirge's wings as brown, but I can see how some people could interpret versions of them as a mustard-y. They're certainly not YELLOW-yellow, but I can see how some could view them as a darker shade of a brownish-yellow, rather than the straight-up brown that I've always seen th...

Re: multiversal musings

Transformers is almost always toyline first, fiction second. So when the toyline gets reset, so does the fiction. A variety of continuities are impossible to avoid. It's just the practical reality of the situation. It's not really the same situation at all as DC or Marvel who have much longer runs ...

Re: IDW "Combiner Wars" comic discussion and speculation

How does that dude go around with that particular name and ever manage to get anything done? If I went to buy a car and the salesman' s name was "Rob M Blind" I doubt I'd be inclined to give them my money. "Hey, that's Swindle over there." "Oh, really? He seems like a trust...

Re: IDW "Combiner Wars" comic discussion and speculation

"Armada" was different from G1 in that the character models were more defined. The bar for "looks about right" or "close enough" is much higher for post-beast character models. The new "Armada Megatron" does not look enough like the original for me to think o...

Re: IDW "Combiner Wars" comic discussion and speculation

There is no reason to assume that Megatron would need a new body. Given how stylized the art in "More than Meets the Eye" tends to be, it might well be the "same" as the upcoming "Combiner Wars" body. Leader Megs even comes with stickers for an Autobot symbol and some ...

Re: multiversal musings

TF's rather laid-back approach to multiversal continuity has always been an amusing appeal point for the franchise. Several times I've talked with friends or acquaintances about their fandoms, be it Star Trek, Star Wars, Warhammer, or what have you, and they'll talk about levels of canon of specific...

Re: Hasbro 2015 Fan-Built Combiner Poll

So it's a NAIL combiner? That's... interesting. They finally got a surprise out of me there. No, I think just the personality is an 'independent' sort. It's still going to be bound by the standard faction duality, though I don't know if they've revealed what faction it's going to be yet. Are NAILs ...

Re: Toy Fair Reveals - Leader Ultra Magnus, Defensor, more

More interestingly, Legends Optimus can combine with Optimus. So after ignoring that toy forever now I want one. Now all we need is for some of the Stunticon molds to be repainted into homages to Spychanger Optimus, Alternators Optimus, Alternity Optimus, and GT Optimus, and we can build the most o...
