Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread
Well, Spotlight: Drift is part of the AHM restructuring, so of course it's going to lay that into place. As early as Spotlight: Optimus Prime we're given an indication of Kup being on the road to recovery having had his physical injuries reported as having been repaired and still working on his men...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread
Yes, it is entirely open for other writers to explore--much in the same way that Kup eventually getting better was open for other writers to explore. But until AHM, we were led to assume that Kup was wasted Forever. As I recall, Spotlight: Kup ended with it being unknown if he could recover mentall...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread
I am pretty sure McCarthy did not intend for us to fill-in a way TC could have survived. Not every act of violence needs to be shown in graphic detail. Just showing us Skywarp's weapon discharging isn't enough. We don't need to see all the detail's but this is an ambiguous ending at best. Shows oft...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread
When Prowl was talking about the intent of the panel, I am pretty sure he meant "intent of the writer and artist", not the characters in the panel. I am going to guess Thundercracker is dead, if only based on the context of the panel, rather than assume a bad genre cliche'. Seems to me th...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread
Yet. We've still got Coda, so there's no use jumping the gun and assuming things. That's actually kinda what I'm saying. We can't assume Thundercracker is dead based on what they show (or lack there of) in AHM. And again, Coda was only added afterwords mainly to bridge gaps AHM caused in the contin...

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread
Obviously it was Skywarp's intent to kill the 'traitor' but with out seeing anything beyond his weapon going off... It implies Skywarp shot Thundercracker, but with out actually see it, the intent of the scene leaves it open to debate. We simply don't know what happened to Thundercracker for sure.

Re: All Hail Megatron Discussion thread
That's my point. All we see is Skywarp's weapon shooting but that doesn't actually mean anything in comics. General rule of comics, if you don't see the body, they aren't really dead. And even if you do see the body, they can usually bring them back to life somehow anyway.

Re: The Spoileriffic Movie Discussion Thread
At the beginning of the movie, the Decepticons were still carrying out their missions by use of subterfuge. Actively doing nefarious stuff would call unwanted attention to them, and they were already getting enough of that from NEST. Not to mention later on in the film when Megatron declares "N...

Re: The Spoileriffic Movie Discussion Thread
What I think is interesting here is that Sparky and I are on the same side, despite arguring about this very point a few months back, on opposite sides. (I was saying, "meh, genocide", and Sparky argued against that.) This isn't that same point. The Autobots aren't actively seeking out al...
