Re: BotCon 2015 theme revealed

Nobody is being asked to replace anything. It is not like collectors are obligated to dispose of their old Packrat figures. Yeah, I'm sure they want you to have original Packrat and Packrat HD right next to each other. The implications are exactly the same as, well, as when Hasbro rolled out the ne...

Re: March Hauls

Last haul of the month last night, couple manga volumes courtesy of my Diamond guy: Black Lagoon Vol. 10 - One of my favorite series ever finally resumes publication, and oh boy is it worth the wait. Hiroe kicks off what already looks to be an intense story arc with this one, bringing Jane back and ...

Re: BotCon 2015 theme revealed

And, in an ironic twist (right after Prowl and I were talking about Fractyl), Packrat is announced as one of this year's exclusives. FunPub doing Packrat from new Rattrap was a given ever since that mold came out. You could argue that they're obligated to make a new Fractyl to go with it, but it's ...

Re: New cartoon: Robots In Disguise

So I caught up on this weekend's twelfth and thirteenth episodes, "Hunting Season" and "Out Of Focus". This former is alright, introducing Drift and Fracture and their respective Mini-Con gimmicks. Drift is a somewhat annoying sammer-eye stereotype, though at least not to the degree as his AOE count...

Re: Comics are Awesome III

Somebody at CBR pointed out that the reader comments in "Ultra Comics" mirror Uotan's review from "Multiversity" #1. So, a character that is supposed to represent readers is calling out a character who is supposed to be powered by....the readers. Uotan wasn't a reader, he was a reviewer. Morrison's...

Re: Comics are Awesome III

Marvel has revealed the line-up for the "Uncanny Inhumans" and "The All-New, All-Different Avengers" for post-Secret Wars. The Inhumans don't really come as any surprise, save for Johnny Storm joining them with the Fantastic Four title ending. The Avengers on the other hand has an interesting line-...

Re: March Hauls

I saw a pic somewhere over on BBTS of Leader Megs next to MP-10, they're not far off. Megs might be slightly shorter, but not significantly so. In my mind, to 'scale' properly, Megatron should be at least a little bigger than Prime, so him being shorter here doesn't do it for me. It's not a deal-br...

I was about to ask how such a thing could be possible, but then remembered your dislike of larger toys.

From what I've seen, I'm actually concerned that he might be not big enough for me, since I'd been hoping he'd be able to scale with MP-10.

Re: Combiner Wars

I got the Windblade issue last night, but haven't had the chance to read it yet.

I kinda wanted to motor through the HumblyBumbly issues of RID/Adjectiveless (I'm making it happen shut up) to catch up on that series before reading Opening Salvo, but I might just say Fuck It and skip ahead.

Re: multiversal musings

I tend to dislike that idea not only because it encourages the recycling of idiomatic characters even in obstinately 'new' settings, but also because of how much disparity there can be. Armada Optimus may be pretty similar to G1 Optimus, yeah, but does that mean Beast Wars Optimus is obligated to be...
