Re: BWTF/Ben updates

Aww there's new forums. If they weren't wedged into such a small space, I'd consider them an option, but as-is? They seem pretty...cluttered and barren and such, so I'd probably suggest we stay here for the majority of our forum activity. <.< That's fine. I wanted to provide the option. Trying to s...

Whoo! Progress!

Greetings everyone, It is done! Thanks to the stellar efforts of several fellow fans, BWTF.com should be up and running by the end of today (barring unforseen circumstances). The DNS entries have been changed to point bwtf.com to the new domain. Please keep in mind there may still be some bugs to wo...

Re: BWTF/Ben updates

Tiny bit of news (and soon I'll be updated the BWTF placeholder page accordingly). I've set the wheels in motion for the "mini" relaunch. This will involve a bit of re-development on a staging server and then transfer to a real, live, active server. Since the holidays are coming, the proce...

Re: BWTF/Ben updates

Thanks for the input guys. I've made up my mind and will do this. It will take some time to ramp up, but if I do this it should be only a month or so out TOPS. Time to get writing! :)

Looking for feedback

Hi everybody, It's been a very frustrating time for a variety of reasons. Most of them have to do with money and finding a way to get BWTF back up without breaking the bank, and unfortunately I've come to the (albeit temporary) conclusion that I simply cannot afford to pay the huge server fees that ...

Re: Ben has updated BWTF, looking at October

Hi folks, Thanks for being so patient. Everyone here has been really cool so I thought I'd offer a bit more detail. One of my family members has had cancer for a few years now. He has survived and fought it much longer than any of us ever expected, but he does have to have treatments done about ever...

Re: Ben has updated BWTF, looking at October

The ad code varies. A lot is in tags, others are just pure URL's with inline image links. As I said, a mess. :) I'm actually using Drupal, which was heartily recommended by several friends. I don't want to depend on relying on Action Online for anything. Let's just say the fact I did not renew with ...

Re: Ben has updated BWTF, looking at October

The CMS that I am using for the new BWTF has a built in search function. That will be launched with the initial release. In time, I plan on slowly updating pages with an additional module that allows for a type of "tagging" of pages. For instance, I could categorize toys by say, what they ...

Re: Ben has updated BWTF, looking at October

That sucks about pulling out ad code. There should be a few common denominators though, mostly from the Action Online adserver URLs, you may want to try searching for just that, then going in and ripping it out. I was going to suggest using Text Exchange, it can take care of find-replace work in a ...

Re: Ben has updated BWTF, looking at October

Hey ben, been worried about you. How did those medical procedures go? Fortunately it was nothing life threatening (in the short term), but everything seems to be better now (the price of getting older). Sadly I did not take very good care of my health the last 20 or so years of my life, so now I'm ...
