Green Lantern/Green Arrow #84 June-July 1971 Peril in Plastic Script - Denny O'Neil Pencils - Neal Adams Inks - Bernie Wrightson This was the first issue of GL/GA I ever read, as far as I can remember. It opens the trade collection I bought way back in the day, back when trade paperbacks were not a...

Well, sort of, because apparently Sybil, the little girl with telekenetic powers, was modelled after Nixon's likeness. A...

Re: 2024 Hauls

I hate to hear that about Side Burn. Been considering whether or not to pick one up. Might want to just skip it, judging by your review. Today's haul: Superman The Triangle Era Omnibus volume 1. I remember these books quite fondly, back in the late 80s/early 90s when the four different Superman book...

Re: Comics are Awesome III

Today's comics: facsimile edition of Transformers #1 (Marvel), World's Finest #31, Zero Hour 30th anniversary special and Green Lantern #15. Looks like next month is going to start putting legacy numbering in small print beneath the current number. GL #16 is legacy #583.

Re: Retro Comics are Awesome

Sounds like a classic case of the sequel being green-lit because the first installment was a success, but the sequel struggles to find a story and just can't live up to the original. Kind of like almost every sequel to Crisis that DC has attempted. Green Lantern/Green Arrow #82 February-March 1971 H...

The Adventures of Batboy! Script: Unknown Pencils: Sheldon Moldoff Inks: Stan Kaye I can't say that I had high hopes for this story. A guy in a baseball uniform with a cape and a trick baseball bat is not the most inspirational street-level superhero I've ever seen. But I can't judge a book by it's...
