Re: Comics are Awesome III
World's Finest #19 - part 2 of this book's "first" Batman/Superman team-up. This series follows a pattern of the main storylines being drawn by the regular artist, and then we get a one or two issue fill in with a different artist. In this case Superman's fellow Kryptonian Jax-Ur has esca...

Green Lantern #62 July 1968 Steal Small - Rob Big! Script - Gardner Fox Pencils - Jack Sparling Inks - Sid Greene A thief steals a series of seemingly worthless items: an empty jewelry box, a pair of shoes and a jacket button, the last item at gunpoint. Meanwhile Hal just barely makes it back to Ea...

Re: Comics are Awesome III
Green Lantern #3 - The book opens flashing back to when Hal's ring cuts out and he's falling to his death, though he manages to get it working again before he hits the ground. The sequence is one of the first I've seen that correctly notes that Hal is not using his original ring, the one that Abin ...

Re: Star Wars - General Discussion Thread
Episode 5 - Shadow Warrior I loved everything about this episode. - It is great to see Anakin and Ahsoka together in live action. What's more, we get a series of scenes set during the Clone Wars, with Anakin's appearance matching his appearance from the animated series. Hayden Christensen does a gre...

Re: Star Wars - General Discussion Thread
Anakin is dead, since this is post-Return of the Jedi. I guess they wanted to go a different route than having him show up as a Force-ghost. Ahsoka is only alive because of the world between worlds, because Ezra was there and could see different points in time, and he pulled her out of a fight with ...

Re: AOE Figure Review Thread
I noticed a number of years back that paint aps had been reduced on Transformers in general. I figured it was a cost-cutting decision of some sort. Sometimes it works, sometimes it really doesn't.

Green Lantern #60 April 1968 Spotlight on the Lamplighter! Script - Gardner Fox Pencils - Gil Kane Inks - Sid Greene The splash page promises a story focused on the non-superpowered bystanders who are caught in between some of these superhero/supervillain conflicts. Will it deliver? We'll see. As t...

Re: Star Wars - General Discussion Thread
I agree with some of what you've said here. Poor Qui-Gon. Everyone survives lightsaber wounds except him. Yeah, I have a big problem with how survivable lightsaber stabbings have become. I can see pulling that once as a fluke, but we've seen it too often now. Maul surviving being cut in half is absu...

Green Lantern #59 March 1968 Earth's Other Green Lantern Script - John Broome Pencils - Gil Kane Inks - Sid Greene Ironic that even in the Silver Age, that cover accurately depicts what Hal and Guy Gardner's relationship will be for a long time to come. At least they did become friends once Guy was...

Green Lantern #57 December 1967 The Catastrophic Weapons of Major Disaster! Script - Gardner Fox Art - Gil Kane There have been some great covers lately, and this one is no exception. Unfortunately both the cover and the splash page give away the villain when the mystery of just who was pointing at...
