Re: Dreamwave G1 read-through
Your reviews have been painful to read. I have said it before, and will say it again. In 2002~03, I was almost done with comics. I actually *wanted* to be done with mainline comics. But, I kept checking on Dreamwave's G1, and I kept buying it, "until it goes bad". And, it was....amazing. T...

Re: new Transformers and Joe comics announced
The main plot is just a riff on "Enemy Mine".
The TF comic is going to be written by Daniel Johnson, who I know little about. I will give it 2 or 3 issues. (I did not know much about Ruckley or Lore, and they were fantastic.)

Re: new Transformers and Joe comics announced
If I was not reading comics anyway (and planning to at least in to the fall, with Marvel's "Ultimate Invasion"), I am not sure I would be coming back for Kirkman on TF.

new Transformers and Joe comics announced
From BleedingCool: https://bleedingcool.com/comics/exclusive-transformers-gi-joe-at-image-comics-with-void-rivals-1/ The title (shipping next week according to the article) is "Void Rivals". That will be the launch of both TF and Joe. The creative team involves Robert Kirkman, which is not...

Re: Dreamwave G1 read-through
Maybe it was ultimately a combination. The narrative doesn't really nail it down. The characters aren't sure, and in the end neither am I. I think the idea was that nobody really knew how Sunstorm worked, so nobody was really sure how he died. It was actually a good way to bring something like the ...

Re: Dreamwave G1 read-through
I no longer have these comics. (Looked recently, and cannot find them.)
I recall the shot of Starscream carrying Bumblebee to safety as being one of Figueroa's better panels (which sets the bar pretty high).
Similary, if I remember correctly, Sunstorm's death was a side effect of his powers.

Re: Dreamwave G1 read-through
I am still sour about Dreamwave collapsing. It was viable. It was an industry darling. The creative team was having a great time, on every damned book. And, Pat Lee ruined it for everybody. I assumed there would be flashback series that would have shown the Ark in more detail, and explained where Me...

Re: Dreamwave G1 read-through
I recall the McDonough/Figueroa series as being good. And, I was going to read along with your reviews..... But, I do not seem to have the relevant issues anymore. (And, as they have never been compiled, I am unlikely to see them again.) I recall Jetfire later balancing out the portrayal of Sunstorm...

Re: Transformers: Legacy
I can except a degree of inflation. If nothing else, that can balance against higher quality and better looking figures. But, this is too much, too fast. Voyagers were hovering around $30 last year, less just 2 years ago. Now, they are close enough to $40 that they may as well be $40. The increase i...

get ready for a price bump
Voyagers are now just shy of $40, albeit with tax. Doing some quick and extrapolatory math, that would put regular (ostensibly Deluxe) figures at a bit more than $25, basic (Scout or whatever they are called) at ~15, the $50 price point (Ultra Magnus or Scourge) over $60, and the $80 price point (li...
