Re: Dark Cybertron

"Dark Cybertron" was an event that served to move characters around for the next editorial phase of the series.

Expecting any event to be resolved in a single issue is unreasonable.

Re: IDW Transformers Collection hardcovers

"Dark Cybertron" was a generic event, but with Transformers instead of capes. It did its job. I just wish that IDW did not take TF in that direction (even if it made financial sense).

Re: Transformers Galaxies (2019 IDW series)

I liked the idea of a fungible identity more than the execution in that case.

Issue 26

Transformers #26: After the magical mcguffin focus of last issue, this issue marksca return to what makes this series worth reading. For the most part, the focus is on the rapidly hardening lines between the factions. It worth noting that even more cynical Autobots are squeamish about killing Starsc...

Issue 1

This issue outlines the escalation of the war. Any moral foundation that Decepticons initially had is gone in this issue. it feels like part of the main series. Complete with the writing being offset by terrible art... Man, Hoist was already one of my favorite characters, but now? That dude is EPIC....

Issue 12 (final issue)

Galaxies#12 The final arc of "Galaxies" resolves with Magnus and the others going back to Cybertron, roughly concurrent with Megatron's speech from shortly after the tether fell. For some reason, Easton used a time-shift in this issue. My best guess is that he wanted a time shift (caused by Magnus e...

Issue 25

The sequence with the Matrix was everything that I have not liked about TF for the last 15+ years. And, the prominent mention of the "13" made me cringe. The coup sequences were good. this is the most balanced, moral and reasonable Sentinel Prime I've seen in any continuity. His position when he's t...

Re: Regeneration One - the retro review thread

I suspect that Bove etal used lessons learned on this series for the art in "84".

Re: new "Transformers '84" series announced

How exactly does he insert these characters into the narrative in a way that doesn't work? Furman went to ridiculous lengths to set up two fights (Megatron/Grimlock and the series 2 characters) that added nothing to the series that he was back writing. In one case, it seems like Furman was trying t...

Re: new "Transformers '84" series announced

Issue 3 is the worst offender, in terms of adding more back-written baggage than it solves, particularly relative to the 1985 characters. And, having Star Saber pledge to fight to the end....right before retreating, was bad even for Furman. I know IDW had collected it, but I think they had to leave ...
