Re: Transformers Kingdom

Rattrap doesn't look much better than the original to my eyes, he's almost the same number of ball joints and he has very little robotic presence. The rat beast mode is gross and panel-ridden. Easy pass. Vertebreak is just not for me, I hope the kids who like that sort of thing will enjoy it but the...

Re: G1 Episode I had never seen??

Of all the eps, I actually remember watching this one a few years ago when I tried to watch all of season 1 and 2. It did indeed have a Trek feel to it, not just in storytelling but in scope since there were so few villains and only a handful of Autobots to oppose them.

Re: Summer hauls!

With all the Siege figures, it was time to get Siege Optimus on sale since he's not going to be easy to find on clearance. My first copy arrived with a an assembly error in the eye, luckily Amazon replaced him fast. He's a pretty good figure, the backpack has jetpack energy and you don't notice it m...

Re: War for Cybertron: Earthrise line

Am I correct in assuming that the coneheads still have the separate nosecone from the Starscream mold, so that their head shape is basically meaningless? You would be correct, they have tiny cones UNDER the main cone as part of their very simplistic heads. There is no need for Cliffjumper to be lar...

Re: Summer hauls!

Massive summer haul: we have been house hunting for over a year, made a number of offers and finally had one accepted. We're moving next week, so we've been packing everything we own and there are stacks of boxes all around the house. It will be very nice to finally get this process over and done w...

Re: War for Cybertron: Earthrise line

I've been getting a bunch more Siege figures lately, and my few Earthrise figures contrast poorly with that. Siege has a better level of design, finer sculpting, better gimmicks, and better materials. The Seeker conehead molds are disappointing, Hoist is pretty mediocre, Cliffjumper isn't a good val...

Re: Star Trek

What a toilet fire! It tries to be the Rick & Morty of Trek, but there's not a single funny joke and the premise is so wildly strained as to lose its point. It feels like it's written for studio execs and nobody else. It feels like more Trek written by people who skimmed TNG a few minutes before goi...

I did enjoy seeing Bumblebee and Wheeljack were the first two characters on screen, just as they were in the original G1 series, and they're hunting for energy, just like that first episode.
I thought it ironic that in order to get them, they had to use Earthrise files. :D

War for Cybertron Siege cartoon

Netflix's WFC:S cartoon dropped, all 6 episodes of it, last weekend. Created by Rooster Teeth, this series is a new telling of the final pre-Earth days of the battle between Autobots and Decepticons, using actual CAD files from the action figures as computer animation models for the characters. Most...

Re: War for Cybertron: Siege toyline

Surprising that Hasbro made an new mold Soundwave a Wal-Mart exclusive. It's a remold of Siege Soundwave and the minions, perhaps that's why it's an exclusive, but between that and Bumblebee who's another remold, it seems like bullshit to me that 2 major remolds are exclusive to a retailer who is g...
